Re: Large compact wings for surfimg on a hydrofoil

It just makes you slow. With my poor level in waves, it is too me an advantage to "stay" in the wave and not cross it too rapidly ; wave goes slowly , so it is appreciated to limit the natural faster acceleration of your hydrofoil IMO ; also useful to turn on the wave with a small radius ("around t...

Re: Large compact wings for surfing on a hydrofoil

I have only one mast, 90 cm; I would not use it with less because of the span of the wing, it gets out of the water quite early when you take some angle to take more speed; I think I was at about 18-20 knots one day with it (I was racing with a friend on a foilboat "Waszp", very fun); What I love is...

Large compact wings for surfing on a hydrofoil

I would like to launch a general discussion on the recent development of very large HF wings to be used in waves. I bought a Ketos 1200 this summer and after a wired feeling of foiling so low during the first test-on-flat session, i must say I finally love the ability to follow slowly the waves cycl...

Re: Pansh Genesis and some tunring

You shall use the rings as if they were eight knots : you lock the connection loop of your line just above the knot that acts as a slide stopper.

It is just less prone to tangling compared to eight knots .

Re: Untangling a bridal

I do the same as Jakemoore. Off course it is far easier with no wind. I start to identify the loops that may have appear and unloop them. Then just by tentionning it should work

Re: Kitesurfing offshore or side offshore winds

I often ride offshore, and indeed the pleasure is great but risky ;To me there is no absolute answer to this question , as there are show stoppers like for example : - your site : offshore current - wind previsions : high wind variation expected (including drop of wind) - thermical risk : cold water...

Re: Back to the roots of hydrofoiling ?

Amazing ... And it also shows the unbelivable humain resources and learning process, since after some month of hydrofoil it seems so natural that your body has even forgotten what was so difficult in the learning phase. I often use the comparison with human walk of a child to try to describe this im...

Re: Back to the roots of hydrofoiling ?

Nice topic gentlemens. I have a huge respect to the pioneers that succeed to fly on a HF; when you think again at how hard it is to start and foil-up, now assuming that you don't have the knowledge that others succeeded before you, you need an unlimited self-confidence and courage to keep thinking i...

Re: The Monjet Ninox

Oh yes , still happy. It seems to me that brands having launched new medium ratio kites don ot reach a similar low end. So... still happy. IMO Existing Single skin are too small to gain low end vs pulsion 15m and lack of structures and LD ratios. So if i had plenty of money, and waiting for potentia...
