Re: Fuselage made with carbón tube

Seal the insert opening with wax. Drill the hole in the fuse. If the insert fits tight, then just epoxying it inside the fuse hole is OK. If it spins, wrap some carbon cloth around the insert. Use the hammer to knock it deep into the hole.

Re: Fuselage mase with carbón tube

You are absolutely right that LF alum fuse is engineered sloppily. Their carbon offering is somewhat better, but still north of 500 grams is too much. I made 2 fuselages from old carbon naish kite bars - 360 and 370 grams: cropped.jpg For wing attachments you need stainless inserts . There is other ...

Re: "Thruster" (Liquid Force) wing for beginners

The concept of "beginner wing" as something inferior has been proven wrong. There is entire new movement of people enjoying super slow ultra stable wings. (Well, maybe, not that new anymore.) From that perspective, LF rocket wing is the best for learning, and it has been unchanged for 3 generations ...

Re: Is anyone else buying carbon credits to offset CO2 from travel?

... Suposedly 97 % (well a high percentage anyway) of scientists believes in global warming, but you know better. Another bulshit detector, or if not how do you decide what to believe ?... Speaking in kiting terms, your timing is off. This is not the best time to claim scientific authority over the...

Re: Is anyone else buying carbon credits to offset CO2 from travel?

Recently PBS have aired a documentary about eugenics. Very informative piece (and this compliment to the station with liberal bias comes from conservative viewer:-). Striking historical parallels: 97% scientists aboard? Check. Is it for better future? Check. Some sacrifices are needed? Check. Numero...

Re: Is anyone else buying carbon credits to offset CO2 from travel?

No credit there: I have plagiarized the last message verbatim from slashdot. Here is another myth buster: "Contrary to what might be expected from environmental concerns related to global warming, CO2 (carbon dioxide) health effects and benefits for the human body are innumerable. Life originated an...

Re: Is anyone else buying carbon credits to offset CO2 from travel?

...this argument is not simply about the planet warming, but our stewardship of our finite environment... You imply the green church has all the answers? I'd suggest it is fundamentally disconnected from the reality. 1. Humans vs nature dichotomy is the norm. Humans as part of nature never even ent...

Re: Is anyone else buying carbon credits to offset CO2 from travel?

This brilliant comment was posted on WUWT:
"One thing for certain if the Global Warmunists get their way, there will be no toilet paper, even though they are promising free $hit."

Re: Specific grease for Hydrofoil

I suggest that anything that keeps water out of the threads would work. For example, you can lube the bolts with petroleum jelly; in fact, the supplied with foil grease looks like trivial Vaseline. For even more substantial water isolation one can use pipe cement. Obviously, pipe sealant is somethin...

Re: Harness Position

Would be great though if manufacturers made a "kidney" harness. sits between a seat and waist harness. Has the support of seat but the maneuverability of a waist. Dakine Chameleon harness. Admittedly, it is more restraining than waist (when used with seat appendix), but it is better than seat harne...
