Re: Best bankrupt?

...At least Eleveight is carrying the torch with good products and service! Most people get into the kiting business because it's a passion the original team has been gone for a while and the bean counters tried to make it into a regular business and of course that didn't work! You are missing one ...

Re: Tips for learning to ride toeside

When learning and you are often quite powered, you will be toast if you point too low toeside, as you will accelerate like a rocket launch when going halfwind and end in a huge crash, so extremely important to point upwind so your speed is in control, to compensate for your other errors when learni...

Gath helmet: it is with me since 2003; no other piece of equipment lasted that timespan.

Re: flying foot switch - advice needed

Imagine if humans were three legged... Then foot switch would have been not a problem at all. On a related note, imagine how easy strapless water start would have been if humans had three arms... I'm telling you: that almighty being has either no respect for our hobby/sport, or his "intelligent desi...

Re: Tips for learning to ride toeside

Whereas on a hydrofoil he will for starters not be able to point very high toeside, so if too much kite it is impossible IMO, and overall, a smaller well chosen size is so much better. Point very high, you mean upwind? Why is this important? My intuition is that one can develop toeside riding skill...

Re: Tips for learning to ride toeside

If you can do the turn, then you are on the stage which is quite similar to progressing from riding heel side board-on-the-water to flying. Just try riding toe side with board on the water for some time and flying would click in the same way as it did with heel side. This is where I disagree with ot...

Re: slingshot H2 or H4 for learning jibing and tacking

If I had a milling machine handy I'd be able to shave off a good half of weight at least and still be fitting existing setup. You don't need professional machinery; a circular hand saw with wood blade cuts through soft alum with ease. I did this mod last year with LF fuse and reduced the weight fro...

Re: Straps or strapless poll

How do you fall with straps? I understand that past beginner level you can anticipate some falls. But what about totally unexpected, like hitting sea weed hidden in murky water? Or people do have quick reflexes?

Re: Foil board compatibility

My only theoretical gripe with track mount is the daily fiddling when mounting. Can you get the little slider bolts to stay put full time? Or do you need to fiddle lining everything up every time to get them threaded before tightening? I’m talking about the lining up of each bolt to its sliding nut...

Re: The joys of valves leaking

The valve does neither have to be hard, nor be exposed to ultraviolet. Valve made of TPU can be hot fused into the bladder. Then, insert PVC pipe from inside and clamp it with another PVC pipe from outside:
