Re: Eye protection -> tips on cheap and good-ish sunglasses for kiting

Re: Could someone please invent a better way to self land a kite in high wind.

.... see link which shows how effortless it was to land an IDS SB. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ia-CmjKvUAI . That is not self landing. That's releasing to the safety. If your starting point is releasing to safety then you've used up all your options from the start. You have no fallback position...

Re: Kiteboarding Rules-of-Navigation Video

Spot on, and make sure to spray their sorry asses when you're shouting STARBOARD at them :D That's why racing has their own, more complicated set of rules: special situation, makes it more interesting, and all the racers know the rules. The "give way to outgoing kiter" rule is simple: outgoing is go...

Re: Kiteboarding Rules-of-Navigation Video

Common sense goes a long way when dealing with noobs: keep clear or untangle your lines :-) Bad maneuverability has got to be obvious, or announced. An empty supertanker is difficult to steer and obvious, and a dredge or fishing vessel has respective signs hoisted to make it clear for everybody. Kit...

Re: Kiteboarding Rules-of-Navigation Video

Nice one, those are the most common PITA situations. let's touch on some questionable cases: 1. - a kiter launched a kite and hangs out at the water edge or on the beach within line length from water with kite in the air 2. - a kiter is riding in your wake and limits your maneuvering 3. - a kiter is...
