Re: F-One handle insert distance

My friend lost his handle on fone trax a d was able to buy an offbrand one at a local shop in the US, I forgot what brand it was. It t was in stock in kiteshop when he was taking lessons. Fins are an issue... i broke a bunch but was lucky enough to alternate fin side, eventually I broke the board so...

Re: How to turn a hydrofoil - and what is YAW ?

I also thought it was similar to biking. When heading far downwind at low speed yaw is pretty apparent but for fast carving in gybe I feel it's more like counter steering, you acrually yaw slightly upwind in order to roll and lean into the turn when doing carving turn to toesfide. But very quickly i...

Re: Jumping with a smaller kite 7m Bandit 2016

i have 2015 7m, it boosts well (as high as my 9m GP in similar condition) but i agree that landing are tricky in gusty condition, you drop fast and need to move kite actively. If you know how to heliloop that helps but if lulls are too strong it's going to be tough... I tried to loop it in 25 knots,...

Re: carving to toe

I'll answer this as I learned to do it recently and the regulars here have answered it a bunch of times. You should search for videos. Basically you are on wrong track. Ride more up wind, keep kite low at 45 degrees. Initiate kite turn fairly aggressively, and quickly follow by yawing board into an...

Re: How To Self-Land a Kite in High Winds

With 5th line much easier For my kites it's easier in 4 line than 5, but probabaly depends on shape of kite. 4 line more likely to get kite mostly flagged and stable, with 5 because flag is right in center my kite always fly on its back right in middle of window if I release in more than 25/30 knot...

Re: Megaloop Boardoff

There were a few guys trying them last year but didn't see anyone landing them on their video.

Aurélien was landing a bunch. It's a shame he didn't make it far into Kota last year, his old school was pretty neat.

Re: How does Kiteboarding translate to snowboarding

I kited for 2 or 3 years before I ever touched a snowboard and initially it was very difficult because the muscle memory is completely different, I kept riding on my back foot and unconsciously turning my hips "upwind" when you really want to have them more parallel to your board to stay in good co...

Soloshot comes with a tripod? It doesn't have a level built in so footage is leveled?

Re: New High Jump French Record - 24m

24m is crazy high, but you can see the video doesn't look that much bigger than a regular jump. It's really difficult to properly film these huge jumps so they give you a feeling for just how huge they are. The problem is that the kiter is out there in space and your eye doesn't have anything else ...

Re: Mittens vs. 3 Finger Gloves vs. 5 Finger Gloves

Nice. Completely agree with you, JeromeL that glove choice is tougher and matters more than your feet. Can’t really use 6mm on your hands anyways. I use ION’s 3/2 claw gloves and don’t feel fatigue either (presumably the pre-curve does a lot here?) but could do with more protection from the wind. M...
