Re: Correct stance on a waveboard for riding upwind

All good advice and I do think that it depends on conditions. Where I ride (small waves, confused conditions) I would have difficulty in riding the board flat off the fins, so I tend to edge, although I have wondered if I was doing it wrong1 One other tip I did get was to ride with the front foot mo...

Re: AIRton Clinches The Championship While Keahi is King at One Eye

This is probably a very stupid question but can anyone tell me why all the riders were riding the wave backside rather than frontside?

Re: What is your wave quiver?

Another South coast UK rider. I am around 68 kilos and use wave kites- Religions- and have a 5, 7, 9 and 10.5. Bit of an overlap between the 9m and the 10.5m to be honest but don't want to give up the possibility of riding on lighter wind days so the 10.5 stays. I ride strapless and have a 5'8'' cus...

Re: 5/3 steamer recommendations

Another recommendation for the O'Neil Psychofreak. Very stretchy (I'm normally a medium but was advised to get a small, which fits perfectly) but you do have to be careful with it. I almost put a finger through the leg when I first bought it and was pulling it up. I have the front zip which is a ver...

Re: Ride Engine rope slider bar on Dakine shorts???

I use an Antalya ring on a rope slider and so far have had no problem in releasing the safety. The fact that you have to release the chicken loop to feed it around the ring and then reattach it, and the opposite when you finish, re enforces the whole safety practice element imho

Re: Kitemare

Thanks for sharing and glad you are ok. Seaweed can be an absolute b*stard when it comes to relaunching kites as I found to my cost last year on holiday. Add to the mix waves and you do have a recipe for disaster. I ended up being dragged under by the kite when it hit a wave in similar circumstances...

Re: Show us your Custom/Hybrid/Home made kite connector!

I should add that I've changed it since that picture was taken, so that the rope is at the top of the spreader so as to stop it twisting the bar up, and the second safety is now attached to the harness. Has worked ok in the three or four months I have been using it.
