Re: Aluula Composites | Episode # 135

I loved and always promoted the idea of less weight and more rigidity. Aluula hopefully is that kite, but for over 5-6 years we've already had a much lighter, cheaper and faster turning kite - the BRM Cloud. 10m Aluula - 5.1lbs 10m Cloud - 4.3lbs A pound lighter. Based on review vids, a good bit fa...

Re: Anyone Ride Armstrong Foils?

Love mine!
Have the 85cm mast, 50cm fuselage, +1 shim and small hs232 tail that I might chop down soon giving nice responsiveness and glide.

Been kiting on the hs1550 while I wait for the hs1050 which I think is a great combo. Also been towing in and riding small/med/big swell in Western Australia.

Surf foil self-sailing up wind

Have a new high area surf foil with wings that floats the board on its side. Unlike my previous surf foil I've noticed the board self sailing itself upwind after falling off a bit. Anyone experience this and improve it somehow?

Re: How I built my own kite surfing bar

Looks awesome Tomlutz!

Just ordered the parts. I might try glue a low friction ring into the center instead.

How did you glue the metal rods at the bar ends that the rope slides around?

Cheers,
Brett

Re: Next foil - Armstrong 1200 or Moses 633

Armstrong is coming out with a hs1050 (high speed) front and smaller hs rear wing in the next month which I'm interested in getting for kiting. They make a 85cm and 95cm mast though the 95cm mast at this point is a bit heavier plate and mast construction. I'm told a lighter 95cm mast is in developme...

Anyone test one of these out and have a review?

Re: Maui, Hawaii - La Morne, Mauritius - Cape Town, which should be visited first?

I'm thinking of doing a 2 week trip to Maui either early April or May for waves and foiling. Which is a better month or are both reasonably good?

Re: Pocket board building

Looks good. Great idea. I might look for a damaged blank to shape down for a pocketboard myself. I was thinking of doing a divinicell core but this could be cheaper.

Please post more photos as you build. I'm curious how you'll reinforce the bolt holes and how light it ends up being.

Re: Light Years Ahead - The Airush Ultra V2

Still heavy compared with BRM Cloud D (~30-50% more). The 8.0 D_0 (1.65kg) is the same weight as a 5m Ultra 2 and the 8.0m D_1 (1.90kg) (one strut version) is the same weight as the 6m Ultra 2. 4m Uno2 weighs 1.3kg which is also light (and much cheaper!) compared with the Ultra2 4m at 1.48kg (BRM Cl...
