Re: Ozone Edge for beginners

FLandOBX, thanks for the suggestion on kites. " Finally, I wouldn't recommend lots of light wind sessions for a beginner. ": eh! I wouldn't too... :) but these are the conditions I'll be facing for the next months to come, so... sigh! :-? Sorry, I should have read your post better before replying. ...

Re: Ozone Edge for beginners

I would also not recommend a 19m kite in any model for a beginner. Finally, I wouldn't recommend lots of light wind sessions for a beginner. You'd do much better finding an all-around medium aspect bow kite (Switchblade, Rally, etc.) in a 14-15 m size and practicing in moderate winds. A high aspect...

Re: Splicing kite lines for beginners

I might have misunderstood you but for the normal rope (three strands) in the bottom picture you don't need any tool unless maybe if it's really thick, say more than 2,5 cm diam. But that would just be to save your fingers - it gets a bit tiring after a few.

Re: New foiler- straps setups

I'm also new to hydrofoils. I'm using two front straps (board is very wide), I've never missed the back strap. I think you want to be able to let go of the board easily when you fall so I'd say no back strap. 1 or 2 front straps, no idea. I also think think the front strap(s) should be very loose, a...

Re: Woo3 and Xensr compared

Mine's still working. I haven't used it a lot, I always forget to charge the battery, but it's more than a year old, and it's fine.

Re: Is anyone else buying carbon credits to offset CO2 from travel?

Surprising. But I think "fine particulate matter" is too general, the air in the sahara is at least three times as polluted as anywhere in the US (60 - 70 mg/m3 compared to 0-20 mg/m3) or Europe ? Still interesting though.

Re: Is anyone else buying carbon credits to offset CO2 from travel?

Well the EU, or anywhere else as far as I can see, can't be serious in it's war against plastic. I don't know anything about it really, but banning would be fine with me. Alternatively I don't see why they can't just charge the consumer the actual cost for the recycling of many plastic things. So wh...

Re: Is anyone else buying carbon credits to offset CO2 from travel?

... Suposedly 97 % (well a high percentage anyway) of scientists believes in global warming, but you know better. Another bulshit detector, or if not how do you decide what to believe ?... Speaking in kiting terms, your timing is off. This is not the best time to claim scientific authority over the...
