Many of us live in sharks infested waters as well ;)
Plenty of wildlife in the ocean throughout the world. Shark sightings are common in SoCal.

Re: Tube vs Softkite - an epic battle?

Total garbage. Nothing like the power and response of a foil kite combined with super light bar pressure foiling high upwind. From five years ago to today, we now have about 20% of the local kiters hydrofoiling. From five years ago to today we went from 1-2 foil kites to close to 15% or more across ...

Re: What are the white patches on boards?

I love Camet Boards and one of the choices you have is a "distressed look" where Brian will actually sand away paint before doing the final clear coats. Makes it a unique piece and distracts theft since it looks old and beat up. 100% sure that board in the pic would have been painted solid white bef...

Re: Kite company's are out of their minds

R&D does not get applied to every aspect of kite boarding evenly... In four years we went from Speed 4 to Chrono 1, Chrono 2, R1v1, R1v2, R1v3, back to R1v2, Elf, F-One, Speed 5, Sonic 1, Sonic 2, Sonic Race, Sonic VMG, Hyperlink, and Soul ... Speed4 Lotus seemed to match stencils of Speed3, the Sp...

Re: Flysurfer VMG

Interesting, is there some forum info on this anywhere? Foilonfoil, how's the adjustment from the Sonic2 to Race? Sonic Race and VMGs are beautiful kites - a higher aspect ratio than the Sonic 2’s provide a more agile kite - fast moving. The 18m Race moves almost as quick as a 15m Sonic2. I find th...

Re: Flysurfer VMG

Focus is to get them out to the racers first. New wing profile and new bridle system. Improved stability but feedback is an incremental update from Race. Race will continue to be available for another 18 months. I just upgraded from Sonic 2’s to Race. New bridle may eventually be retrofitted to Race...

Sewing line loops...

Any tricks on how to using a sewing machine to sew up the ends of lines. I using a solid core spectra line that cannot be spliced and just want to sew the loops. Is there a special foot for a sewing machine someone can point me to? Edit - I just for this but if anyone has other methods, let me know....

Re: Flysurfer-specific training?

Foilonfoil, I rarely use the trim strap, perhaps once every 20 sessions. For me I find enough trim just using my arms. One thing that helps is to not use a hook, I use a Mystic or Ride Engine harness with my chicken loop attached directly to the sliding rope. This gives me lots of adjustment trim. ...
