Re: Woo3 and Xensr compared

This has been round and round in circles, lets not see these as jumps in meters.. they are 'jump scores', and you can only compare one scoring mechanism with itself... cross comparison is pointless, they are different mechanisms. If they were true to real life 'meters' then who would be the first se...

Re: Beginner and no hook spreader bars

'generally' speaking, fixed hook spreader bars are for freestyle / wakestyle, I 'think' sliding spreaders are for mainly wave riding / foiling.. However, I think some people will use a sliding spreader for all and vice versa. I guess it depends which way you think you are going, foiling, wave riding...

Hows your pull ups and muscle ups going? You are going to need to be stronger than a smaller person just to perform the same stuff.

Re: Damaged ribs = Seat

I broke a rib and when I was recovered found my waist harness really uncomfortable... I decided to buy an impact vest to protect myself and inadvertently the padding on it (the foam 'six-pack') kept the harness down from rubbing my ribs... just another option for you!

Re: Kite description V’s style usage

There is also the point that not all 12m are actually 12m... different brands are not all built to the exact measurements, some are bigger some are smaller, there is a thread on here somewhere!

Re: Kite sizes beginner's question

What are other people using at your spot? I don't think using website wind range recommendation is going to be that accurate, get on the beach on windy day and see whats being used.. talk to some locals. What kind of board are you riding? You could use a 14/15m and TT or maybe even have a 12m as you...

Re: Disadvantages of wave kites

I ride Wave kites, the Airush Wave. I do little 'Wave' kiting and as far as I can tell there is no disadvantage!! I can jump as high as anyone else, it doesn't drop me, I can kite loop it, ride as far upwind as anyone else, I don't see any disadvantages...

It all depends on the Wave kite I guess

Re: Lightwind Kite recommendations (Big guy)

Don't have any recommendations for a bigger kite, but I would suggest having a look at a bigger board? Not just a big TT but a surfboard or something like the Shinnster or Paipo.. much cheaper than a kite and I think it helps to learn something new.

Re: Backroll hand drag transition?

Jeez it was two years ago I posted this? Just to close out the thread: 1 - You can do it without looping the kite, perfect timing and good wind strength is required, I could do it on my 12 but not on my 9m. 2 - Its much easier with the loop (as I found out by accident) but feels so much more awesome...
