Re: Is a Spitfire safer?

Zeeko claims the Spitifire foil is safer in crashes as it is less likely to come after you. Also, it is more tolerant of breaches so one is less likely to crash. Can anyone with real world experiences comment on this? Thanks I would generally agree with the first statement, and strongly agree with ...

Re: On Shore Wave Kites

I disagree with this. If you are riding the face of the wave then you are riding waves, regardless if it's onshore or not. In good sized windswell you can let your kite drift completely and be 100% powered by the wave your are surfing. The main issue with surfing onshore is the wind speed vs. the w...

Re: On Shore Wave Kites

Direct on shore, you are not really wave riding in my view (as Plummet said - define wave riding!) In these conditions, you are playing in waves. Here, any all around kite is fine, including Naish Pivot. I disagree with this. If you are riding the face of the wave then you are riding waves, regardl...

Re: Simmons Planing Hull

I have a mini-simmons outline, essentially it looks like a half circle at the front and parallel lines down the side to a square end. 22 inches wide, 5'2" long, has a huge concave with two BIG long fins. Works a treat as a light wind board and goes well in little waves. I have also ridden it with li...

Re: How to turn a hydrofoil - and what is YAW ?

A bit of heaving and yaw ....

Seems to me they both work in unison. Yaw alone doesn't allow me to turn in any meaningful fashion.

Re: Brisbane (Broadbeach) February/March

You will typically get three or four days of 20 knot+ afternoon seabreezes (NE or SE) during Feb to March in Southern Queensland heading all the way down the NSW coast to Victoria.

I am 100kg and would typically use a 8/10/12.
