Re: Kite choices for foiling in high winds ?

What about the stability of a small single strut vs a similar sized three strut. Would the single strut do a lot more flapping and be less stable? An Ozone Reo vs a Cloud (no strut), as complete opposites, for example in stormy conditions. A Cloud will flap if you de-power in high winds or de-power...

Re: Kite choices for foiling in high winds ?

I have used my little 3.5m Cloud in 35 knots on a zeeko carver, and the same little kite in 50 knots on a twin tip.

It was like having an angry little wasp!

Re: -ing gear for the lightest of the winds

I am confused as to why you would get over powered by the longer lines once your kite is set. Is it because the kite sits back a little in the wind window due to the additional line drag? I fly a Cloud, and the best light wind setup for me is 25 to 30m race lines in super light conditions. I only ev...

Re: First foil - Slingshot hoverglide ?

Good solid foil to learn on. Pretty indestructible. Different Mast sizes can make the progression more rapid.

Seems logic this concept?
Less wind,
bigger kite
longer lines
bigger F wing
bigger board
More skill!

Re: Mounting a hydrofoil on your TT

I bolted a Zeeko Carver onto a CrazyFly Door (150x50). I added a piece of pine between the foil mount and TT to strengthen the mount point and give extra flotation (shinn style). I ride the Door like a direction with a deckpad and no foot straps.
Worked fine.

Re: Zeeko Spitfire Hydrofoil

As I was eyeing a shorter 700mm mast to accommodate one of my local flat water spots, I see on http://zeeko-kites.com/gb/foil-series/379--alloy-mast-2017-plate.html the following warning "Be careful 40, 60 and 70cm masts are not usable with the Spitfire". Any idea why? What would happen with a shor...

Re: Small vs large foil board

One of best light wind board types I ever used before I started foiling was a skim board. Wide, no rocker, no too long, hardly any volume. Having tried a wide range of boards with my Zeeko Carver, I am back to using a skim board (naish hover 155) for super light wind. It gets me planing early and ha...

Re: Hydrofoil board for beginner, cheaper VS expensive

... I then purchased a zeeko blue/white and the carver wing as well. Best of the lot and in hindsight, wished I started with the blue/white/carver as my first foil (not sure it existed when I got the fish foil). I also invested in the Zeeko Spitfire and XLW wings. I would have been happy to learn o...
