Re: New kite gear from Gong

Gong lost me a couple of years ago, unfortunately because of their poor build quality. The Gong Lethal surfboard cracked underneath the heels, both sides of the front strap after only 40 sessions, ZERO jumping. After some email exchange Gong agreed to replace my board which was good. But unfortunate...

Thanks for the constructive feedback.

I will inspect accordingly and look at that line shortening idea.

Re: Clickbar Leader Lines Replacement

Thanks Evan. I keep it clean of sand, so the feedback from a user that also keeps his bar clean would be interesting. Hard to say where on the scale I would be with trimming. Subjectively, I would say I trim moderately often or a bit more as I weigh only 74kg and tend to stay with the kite I have ev...

Clickbar Leader Lines Replacement

Hello, I just wanted to hear from other North or Duotone Clickbar users about if or roughly how often you replace your leader lines as they are quite expensive!? The other day I opened my Clickbar for a general routine check and saw that the left leader line was showing slight signs of abrasion. It ...

Re: Movin away from Duotone to a new Wave Kite

I buy second hand North Neos 2017 and 2018 while I can in the hope that by the time I need to replace these and there are no older Neos on offer, Duotone realizes they have to offer quality.

I use Mountain Bike Fork Oil which is special in that it does not deteriorate the rubber of the seals.

Re: Future Kites-Wings will be around 25 PSI +

I believe that increasing the pressure and reducing the tube diameters makes a lot of sense and I am rather surprised this has not happened in this sport yet. For sure there are technical challenges but they can be overcome. Playing with pressures and diameters will give kite designers more freedom....

Re: Landing a surfboard smoothly

Hello Niels, for smooth landings try to keep some horizontal speed and land pointing downwind. This allows you to have a super smooth touch down. Steering the kite forward just before landing helps too. Also, I land on the water with the rear foot first as this will put less strain on the board whic...

Re: Surfboard for big waves

Most production boards are intended to be all around, they will be heavy and produced cheaply in Asia. In adition to this they only make a few sizes .... I would get a custom with XTR construction (tell them it s for kitesurfing) and you can choose from the most popular surfboards models/brands tha...

Re: Surfboard for big waves

Check out the Applepeeler from Appletree which is their dedicated big wave board in the product range.
.
Nice thin and long rails as well as nice flex for perfect carving and top quality build.

Not cheap though.

I have the 5'7 and very happy. I use straps.
