Re: AxisAxis New Wave vs. Ocean Rodeo Jester (strapless freestyle)

It's not that it is too heavy to jump, their promo videos show it doing well. I was being realistic in relation to some of the specialist lightweight boards that are around. However it's commonly acknowledged that lightweight comes at expense of durability. The New Wave is almost pristine after so m...

Re: Channels on a surfboards

I won't if anyone has done some flow modelling on channels to what impact they have. This is worth a watch where they've done flow modelling on different Firewire designs, though not specifically commenting on the effect of the channels, you can see what they are doing. https://www.youtube.com/watc...

Re: AxisAxis New Wave vs. Ocean Rodeo Jester (strapless freestyle)

I've had a 5'8" New Wave for 2 years and absolutely love it. Previously I had 5'11" Slingshot Celeritas which was so corky and hard to waterstart in comparison. The New Wave is superb in chop where the flex absorbs it really well, making for comfy ride. It's too heavy to jump well. So there are far ...

Re: Moses 2018

Edit post - have now seen prices of windfoil masts and not economical to use in lieu kitefoil mast.

Re: Moses 2018

As it doesn't say anywhere on website, I had to ask on Moses FB page about the fitting on Windfoil and SUP foil - it is a 'standard windsurfing tuttle'. This may well let people with tuttle foil boards choose new 2018 mast and use it instead of plate mount. Obviously considerations on strap placemen...

Re: Ozone Edge V9 vs OR flite vs Core XR5

I have XR5 in 13.5, 11 & 9m. First of all I rode the 9m and couldn't believe how long I stayed on the water with surfboard & twin tip, so much fun! I'm coming to them from Enduro 14 & 10m and prior to that had Edge V8 13m. The hang time of XR5 is immense, are very stable, they turn really well and h...

Re: Which GPS

I've just bought a used Locosys GT31 for £80 from FB Kitebay which doesn't do wireless like the GW-60 which is £200. The Garmin are £600+ unless you can get 'friends and family' deal from someone employed by Garmin. Love the versatility that Fenix 5 series offer, but not as accurate as Locosys as f2...

Re: F-One 2018

Thanks for sizing advice and taking trouble to take photo. The good news is that they are fairly similar, so the Mitu isn't as bad as I think it appears on the F-One website (and all dealers who have used those images) and seems to be more in line with how it appears on the videos. There does appear...

Re: F-One 2018

Thanks again for this information. Very helpful indeed & makes perfect sense that Mitu is of most use to the majority. I'm doing neither of the things the Slice & Signature offer, so seems that Mitu is the way ahead. Given I have a 5'8" Axis New Wave which eats up the chop where I sail, I'm wonderin...

Re: F-One 2018

I was enquiring about 2018 board availability in UK this afternoon. Seems they are due to arrive end of October & it's been recommended that I pre-order. I too am finding lack of independent information on the products frustrating, more so given this new scenario! I'm interested in the Slice 5'3" vs...
