Re: Strapless board shape?

That is good advice, rocker, outline, width, length and volume all come into play to effect the way a board rides Generally speaking the flatter wider and less pointy shapes are better for smaller waves and lighter winds, are easier to learn to ride strapless on, will often go upwind better, to are ...

Re: Stranded kitesurfer used Apple watch to call for a ride

I’ve already used mine to find my wife when see aborted our ocean downwinder half way into our run. It was sick to iMessage her and find out what street she was at for pickup. It sure beats kiting with a huge, expensive, cell phone around your neck. Yes using Smart watches and other mobile devices ...

Re: Airush Ultra 9m review

With a foil i think the 9m would get alot more use as where i live here in Perth, western Australia, there is a lot of 12 to 15 knot days that the 9 would be perfect for. I flew the ultra on the airush cleat bar but I wouldn't buy another bar as I am modifying and making my own custom bar with longe...

Re: Do I need to do lock stitching on a brummel splice??

Okay, I do Brummel splices on sheeting lines, pigtails and kitlines. No stiches and no problems. If I was going to stitch I certainly would not waste the effort doing a Brummel splice. If you are wearing suspenders, why n other with a belt. I think the Brummel is actually, miniscually weaker than a...

Re: Do I need to do lock stitching on a brummel splice??

Hi guys thanks for the wealth of replies I will just be making the centre line / depower line at the moment and leader lines for. I think I will do the brummel with lock stitching just to be on the safe side and I will definitely be keeping an eye on my gear to monitor the strength/ safety as I am u...

Do I need to do lock stitching on a brummel splice?

Hey everyone I have just had my first go at splicing some hollow braided dyneema line. I have done a brummel/ eye splice ( passed rope through itself twice to lock then taper and bury the end) I am quite happy with the results. It looks smooth and solid. I'm wondering if I need to do a lock stitchin...

Re: Naish Foiling 2018

[quote=Dwight post_id=991370 time=1507199789 I'm curious why too. If it is massive, then it can be treated as immobile object, e.g. a wall in a pool. Does getting up on a pool coping/desk look difficult? The only reason I can think of is the keel still playing game destabilizing the board. The sup ...

Re: AIRton Clinches The Championship While Keahi is King at One Eye

This is probably a very stupid question but can anyone tell me why all the riders were riding the wave backside rather than frontside? That mostly just comes down to rider preference. Some riders like airton rip frontside both ways ( actually airton is totally ambidextrous and can even rip backside...
