Re: Looping tips

I'd say learn it first with a surfboard if possible. It's highly unlikely you will nail all downloops without a bit of training, and without proper timing the kite will pull you quite a lot, resulting in some funny wipeouts and some serious speed after the turn since the foil accelerates really fast...

Re: What are your Worst Accidents Hydrofoiling?

Severely bruised wallet due to even more spending in boards and smaller kites for foiling :P Apart from that the usual, had my lines tangled in the foil a few times, but nothing major as normally you're in a smaller kite. A few close calls though, so even today being much more proficient I still wea...

Re: Switch Element5 vs Cabrinha Drifter

Tried the FX in 14m and fits very well at my style but feel that if the board it's not super efficientIt It lacks upwind (way to thick LE???),IMHO Cabrinha should make a "deltish" FX called maybe the WX :D :D Danidr: you' re right about Cabrinha smaller panels looking cleaner LE profile, that's wha...

Re: Switch Element5 vs Cabrinha Drifter

I own the 2016 9m Drifter and the 7m Element V5. I agree completely with mikelet's comment. The Element is more powerful on the low end and has noticeable better glide/hangtime than the Drifter. It also loops with more power (in either bridle setting you can choose). Turning speed is similar, as in ...

Re: 2018 - Cabrinha Kitesurfing

Debating on upgrading my 9 drifter to the new drifter. Cab driver, can you let me know what the advantages are with the 2018? The Drifter was launched in 2012 and has forever changed surfing with a kite. 2018 is the first all new Drifter since then. We have been very careful not to screw up the Dri...

Re: Black Marks Off Cabrinha Depower Line?

The black ink comes from the below the bar stopper / swivel. Constant contact and rubbing of this part with the lower part of the bar will release the ink and it will travel up through the de power line and into your hands. The will also make your bar look old and dirty very quickly!! I noticed this...

Re: 2018 - Cabrinha Kitesurfing

How much did they charge you for the bungie line? I had mine replaced by a shop; however, shop is out of business (also the first two lines were a few inches longer that the one on my 2016 bar). Anyone care to share part numbers and lengths for this part? I would like to order a spare until I decid...

Re: 2018 - Cabrinha Kitesurfing

Hello Cabdriver, do you know if they did change something to the bar pu-tube diameter so the landingline can't be stuck anymore like in the previous years models? According to Cabrinha there's no problem with this, the system worked fine... my line kept getting stuck because of user error and decli...

Re: Gear prices vs discounts vs free/sponsored gear

LOL nice try Switch gorilla marketing attempt No marketing attempt, I'm not even consistent with buying my gear from a single brand: I use Cabrinha kites because that's what I started with. My foil is a liquid force that I got cheap from someone that was selling it, and my my strapless board is fro...
