Re: small race kites in high wind

With a buddy to double check your bridles and make sure you have a clean launch, they're as-easy as inflatables. But like Dave said above, it's way more of a handful by yourself.

Re: Christmas/New Year kiting in Sandbridge, VA?

First Landing State Park is the spot for NW or NE, there is a bay-side beach with parking and a ranger station, that's the spot many of us go. NE and SE winds are also rideable on the oceanfront from 45th street to 88th if waves and beach break are more your thing. Sandbridge beach on the ocean side...

Re: Race Bar Lines

Not sure what line these specs come from, but it's not material I'd want to race with, very low performance for diameter. Check out SK Shapes website, he sells a bunch of race lines. You can buy that material bulk and make your own if you know how to splice. https://www.skshapes.com/shop/flying-line...

Re: 50 Knot Challenge - Sam Light

Getting your watch to say 49+ for the camera is very cool and requires much skill, but is pretty attainable for a kiter at Sam's level all things considered.

That shouldn't take away from the coolness of the video.

Mossy 757 of course they have the old stuff in the back catalogue but I found it rather odd making a big splash about their first ever product launch video, starting a new era, "00", etc etc - and then spe...

Re: Looking for a true resistant directional board for strapped jumping

If I were blowing up directionals, I'd probably find a local shaper to help me build something custom that was more resilient. If you take them your latest broken board they can do some failure mode analysis and beef up the new one in the places where the old one failed.

Re: High wind foiling

One thing to think about is that you basically can't send it reliably on anything smaller than a 7m without risking a trip down the elevator shaft in the descent. So while many of you may select a kite primarily on its ability to provide suitable traction to power your foil, if you want to go ballis...

Re: Foot-Switch Bad Habits: Stuck

I practiced on a longboard skateboard for a while, but ultimately the only thing that will get you there is time on the water.

Re: Race foil strapless

Yea, ive seen all those ML 3 on sale. Is that because of the equipment qualifications and ml3 wont be eligible for racing? I understand the scary part of strapless at 30 knots. But I've never used straps on surfboard or hydrofoil. I'd like to get a foil with a plate. So I'm thinking of new slingsho...
