I rode the 14M Rebel in very light wind a month ago. I think it worked a bit better than my 16M Rhino 05. Partly because it turns faster. I can't say anything about the high end. I will be looking for something to replace my 16 and 20M kites. Maybe a 16-18M flat kite, hopefully will turn almost as q...

I'm about 90kg. My biggest kite is 20MV4. It's a pig and hard to jump well. so this season I have been more often riding plywood monster and 16M Rhino 05. That way if the wind comes up I can switch to a smaller board. I have often been riding going up wind easy while others were mostly walking back ...

I am thinking about getting a couple Vegas' and Slingshot oneline bars. I have so far only flown the Vegas 06 14M once with a 2005 5E bar. I can't say it had all the depower they claim, but it was up and down gusty conditions and my bar does not have huge chicken loop travel (about 7"). I have only ...

Re: Will you demo/test before you buy?

I'm trying to demo, I found it quite usefull with skis a couple times but have not demo'd kites before. I think it will be hard to compare because it is a rare oportunity to try more than one back to back on the same day, or make a good judgement from one session. Also some of the most popular kites...

I added to the end of the 5th line. I also eventually had to lenthen back lines when front lines had stretched to far to compensate with adjustments on stock setup. There is some info at go kiting.

How much do you weigh Weirdfish? Do you think the Vegas had more low end than a typical 12M? That has been said of the R6.

My wife and at least one other female kiter have had trouble tweeking their bar to shorter arms. She also has small enough feet that having a small footstrap would probably help too. I suppose the market for women specialized gear is small but growing.

I would like to see more comments on this. I usually do not wind up the lines, I just crawl up the leash and don't kick if I am in the water. There has been much discussion and I think it depends on the situation (mostly how far from shore you are) as to weather or not to wind lines before self resc...

I bought some 19M lines made by K.I.T.E.S. from kite-line.com last summer which were all different colors. They make a bunch of lengths for the teaching method that starts on very short lines, but also regular lengths. It was a five line set with the fifth line longer than all the others. I don't se...
