Re: Advice for learning to tack and 360

All good points. One not mentioned is getting weight from heelside onto ball of foot / back onto the board and hips forward. Cause your entering from a carve with heel/slight backleg pressure. I’m talking heelside tack obviously. Think stay ontop of this freakn board! Although the tight turning ones...

Ozone Chrono V3 exp

Hi there. Is there anyone using Chrono Exp part open/part closed cell in here? A friend of mine just upgraded part of his gear to a 9m and 13m. He’s a hardcore cross country guy doing trips many hundres of km (Iceland and Greenland). He’s trying to go through the right channels about getting answers...

Re: What is your cold water red line, measured in Celsius?

In regards to VERY cold: One point, all that thickness can be counterintuitive. As soon as the thick stuff cuts blood curcilation it’s game over - you get cold and numb. Lobster and mittens help at the risk of dexterity (I’m one armed so very cautious of that part - hence a slider bar setup and medi...

Re: What is your cold water red line, measured in Celsius?

I wear a a good 6/5/4 suit, 7 mm booties and 5 mm lobster gloves. I don't use a specific temp but instead just do shorter sessions when it's colder. This session was -3 degC air and 6 degC water (but the slushy parts of the water were more like 1 degC), I only lasted about 45 min. https://www.youtu...

Last one 107x42 cm was 1685 g without pad. So maybe 1500 g is posible.
Wow, thats light! Just measured the 10.5” finbox. Plastic alone is 107 gr., thats 214 gr. plus Epoxy/filler. I take it you’re not using tracks.

Re: Pocket board building

In the process of gathering supplies and planning for a proper carbon build. Done one vaccum process board which turned out so so - good learning experience. Two questions for you experienced vaccum process builders out there: 1. Whats the general concensus about pump pressure using closed cell pvc...

Re: most durable 2mm gloves

They don’t say the thickness but having used 3mm I’d say 2mm. https://www.powerkiteshop.com/prolimit-pro-limit-kiteboarding-polar-2-layer-gloves.htm Coming on a full year of heavy use, starting to leak but still pretty warm. Just came back from a session in 5 C˚ and 6mm hooded suit. Not cold at all....

Re: Rescuing A Loose Kite At Sea ...

Done it twice. Mind you I’ve only got one forearm, right one missing below elbow. Consider myself compitent though after 15 years of kitesurfing. Boards are easy, tumb in the handle and gentle on controls. Kites, a different ballgame. I approach from upwind after watching what the kite is doing and ...
