Re: Beginner kites with the best safety systems?

While I agree with your comments on the cloud system, and I believe the cloud system needs to be under tension to release which would not be awesome (someone can clarify), but I would never recommend a rope slider system to a beginner for a myriad of reasons not limited to the addition of one extra...

Re: Splicing tips?

I use Selma (push) Fids for rope down to 3 mm, for smaller rope than that I use a D-Splicer kit. I could use bent wire 'n stuff but I just like an easy life.

Re: Splicing tips?

Would be easier with a proper fid, and make sure your rope cut is really nice and clean - wrap electricians tape where you're going to cut to keep the rope as packed as possible.

Re: LE bladder wear by elastic bladder retainer inside tip (Ozone)

I see. Or perhaps odd numbers that aren’t a prime  I’m such a nerd I took a photo. I'm such a nerd that I measured the Enduro V2 bags: Height x width (cm) 6m = 57 x 33 8m = 57 x 33 10m = 64 x 39 12m = 64 x 39 So if your 9m is in a 64 x 39 bag then yes, it will be a bit big. Very well made bag...

Re: Splicing tips?

I could be completely wrong, but that looks like it might be 16 or 24 strand as opposed to 12 strand single braid which is really easy to splice.

Can you show a cleanly cut cross section please?

Gonna be a 30-35 knots day tomorrow, so probably gonna go for an overpowered session.
Too offshore here, be interested to hear how you get on (looks like it could well go over 40 knots) ...

Re: LE bladder wear by elastic bladder retainer inside tip (Ozone)

Ok understood re the sand inside abrading the bladder when deflated and packed down; I had naish kites before with same Boston valves but no problems, although I soon switched to ozone so maybe I didn't have them long enough. So the slow leaks may be Boston related or retainer related - I will chec...
