I'm heading to Saunton Sands :-)
If you're there on Sunday and this forecast turns out to be accurate ... good luck!

Re: Hmmm, this Sunday should be 'interesting' ...

Weird, beeb currently showing 17mph for Camber on Sunday. Different story with windguru though! Looks like it will be the 12m again... :) The beeb luvvies are still at the Brighton love-in. Have a look at XC Weather which I generally find to be the most reliable UK south coast forecaster. Hmmm, this Sunday should be 'interesting' ...

Sustained 47+ knots (Strong Gale 9 to Storm 10) gusting 63+ knots (Violent Storm 11 to Hurricane 12).

Should I go out on my 6m or should I stay at home with my wife and make the next year's supply of tomato chilli pesto?

Decisions decisions.

Re: 2019 Naish Apex pads

I have UK 10.5-11 = US 11-11.5 size feet and I couldn't get my feet into them wearing booties.

Re: Beginner kite- Core XR5 or Naish Pivot

Get a cheap tough as nails kite that has a chance of surviving the abuse you will give it. Like a Slingshot Rally, plenty of nearly new or even new around at silly prices. 2016 & 2017 & 2018 are very little different.

Re: Gear advice - tyranny of choice

I'm 81kg. I have had a Shinn Monk (135x42) and a North (Duotone) Select (138x41). I preferred the Monk to the North Select because I found it handled chop better and was (surprisingly) quicker than the Select when you wound it up. Smaller board by definition will deal better with chop and will be q...

Re: Harnesses and ribs

I just don't get the resistance to seats. They work better, give you much better support , less chance of rib injuries, and a far more comfortable IMO. I like the look of the waist harness better, but there are some seat harnesses which are really sick, the dakhine one comes to mind. Toby has a goo...

You are not taking into account how kite COREporations work.
I was saying how they can and should work, not how they do work.

Carry on with your rant. :)

Re: Chicken Loop Bye Bye?

Here is my below the bar swivel using a modified 6mm "Jaw and Eye swivel" on the Jaw end of which is the standard 6mm ID Dynabar wheel. It has a 4mm x 25mm D ring welded onto the Eye end of the swivel. I never unhook so use a Cabrinha QR. I prefer a separate safety rather than the BRM type release. ...
