Re: GoPro 9

Thanks ! Yes as you said the backpack seems easier to use, but at the same time I like they way you can place the camera exactly where you want with the selfie stick.

Re: GoPro 9

Have you guys tried to use selfie sticks ? I tried once in very gentle conditions and I think it gives a very good perspective where you can often see both the rider and the kite: https://vimeo.com/465261119 Not sure if it is really practicable in more usual conditions with real waves though. I like...

Re: GoPro Hero 8 about to release?

Great video and riding. I love the wide view without distortion. What settings? Does the line mounted camera affect flying performance at all? Thanks. Yeah I prefer without fisheye distortion too.The fisheye distortion is removed in post, using the GoPro FX Reframe plugin. Unfortunately it degrades...

Here is a short test on the beach. It was not enough wind to get on the water. But pretty promissing. This is at max Field of View. Normally I would crop so the horizon has less distortion.
Thanks ! So this is with the 360 module and enabling auto horizon leveling when reframing, right ?

Re: GoPro Hero 8 about to release?

Here is a video taken with the GoPro Max and the U.Go linemount: https://vimeo.com/388844425 Sometimes the arms of the mount are visible in the video, which is a bit annoying. I've found this alternative linemount which is similar to the U.Go mount but with shorter arms, which should make them less ...

Re: GoPro Hero 8 about to release?

I'm really curious to see the result of the Insta360 One R on the linemount, how it compares with GoPro Max...

How high above the bar, did you put the cam?
Thanks
About 50cm above the Y of the 2016 North 4 lines bar.

That's pretty sweet! Do you have the MAX in a case, or just mounted nacked on the u go mount?
Not in a case, just mounted directly on the u-go linemount.

Re: GoPro Hero 8 about to release?

Thanks!
I only tested the gopro max in 25+ knots for now, and the weight wasn't a problem at all. The kite was still drifting very well (I'm used to having a session 5 in the lines).
I use the u-go mount.

Here is another version with a little more reframe work:
