Re: is high wind winging any good?!

Pretty much what OzBungy says. Wingfoiling only gets more fun as the wind gets stronger. I've gone from kitefoiling to almost only winging and now back to doing a little more kitefoiling, especially in lighter wind, preferring winging in stronger wind and kiting in lighter wind. Winging in strong wi...

Re: Question for Wingers Who went back to Kite Foiling

Didn't quit winging, in fact still mainly wing, but really enjoying mixing it up a bit, and starting to kite foil a little more these days after almost only winging last summer. Enjoying the extra speed and power and manoevrability of a kite foil and the compact gear setup. I think doing them both w...

Re: When did you get hooked on foiling?

I was hooked before I ever tried it. :) The same with me. Contacted a small Italian company called Moses. Does anybody remember it? ;) Ordered the cult Silente in 2012. Went to Thailand without any other board and with only one goal to master foilboarding. Mission has accomplished so well that toda...

Re: Winging is half-assed kite foiling - discuss

I think it’s easier than kitefoiling. I’m gonna teach my kids on the wing first before a kite. No harness, no dearth loop potential. No chance of lofting. You can sit and flat and take a break. You can practice at less than foiling speed. I’m gonna teach my kids with a sup first and then a foil whe...

Re: Armstrong Foil is junk

I had a gofoil setup for a while. It was extremely tight when I got it, couldn't extract the wing from the fuselage without a mallet. Six months later it was just not as tight, could easily remove wing by hand. The trend was clear After that I decided there was only one type of connection I was inte...

Re: Kitefoil on wingfoil board?

Thanks, I had seen the video, helpful reminder. Very short lines though (no go in lighter winds). Yes, I meant wing board + kite foil, or whichever foil you want to use. A smaller kite could not pull you out of the water, you’d have to climb on the board and do a “winging” start. I actually tried t...

Re: Pocket Board foil attachment method

This is what I do using t-nuts. It's low tech and cheap and not too difficult. But it's pretty strong enables you to get high precision without high precision tools. I've used it on the last couple of pocket board I'm using where the bolts are countersunk and need to line up exactly. Here is part of...

Re: 33% or 50% size gap for foiling quiver

Hmmm, I think the percentage could be misleading as there is not (to my knowledge) any standard for sizing/gaps in this respect.... If we got a 6 and a 9 m2 kite. The the 6 is 33 % smaller than the 9. But the 9 is 50 % bigger than the 6. So what are we talking about here??? 8) Peter Good point. At ...
