Re: The new Ocean Rodeo Mako featuring Bliss air Pads and Straps

How about the boards? Are they any different? I have the orange 2015 150. Apart from the loss of the extra holes to go mutant....any difference?

Thx!

Funny, btw, I was thinking the same thing about SB versus twintip. He doesn't, they teach on twintip, midsize.

I think many a kiteboarder thinks surfboards are only for advanced kiteboarders, that you have to start on twintip. Which is nonsense, really.

Re: Ideal kite to start with for the smallest kids?

I went to have myself advised on that very question for my nine year old. He knows how to handle a trainer Peter Lynn, on straps, not a bar. Even though the shop in question sells that particular kite, they recommend an inflatable. Ozone Uno. Learning relaunch on the Uno prepairs you for the future....

I'd like to help you on your board size, but I haven't been on an twintip in four years. Some brands actually give you ranges, like https://www.northkiteboarding.com/produ ... ips/jaime/. No recommendation, just an example.

Re: Help/recommendations buy first kitesurf gear set

Jocol, If you are going for a new set (which I think is a good idea), just approach a shop. The ones I mentioned will help you out. You don't have to shy away from last years kites, or even 2015 kites. Might save you a bundle! But..if you want my advice, get a 'freeride' kite by one of the major bra...

I hated it on my otherwise perfect OR bar ( forgot which one). I replaced the covered dyneema for 'naked' dyneema. Could just be me.

Guess it's personal.

Re: Help/recommendations buy first kitesurf gear set

Jocol, I don't know where you live, but I have firsthand knowledge of these shops (all are online and have physical shops): kitemana.nl (Katwijk), Versusshop.nl (Den Haag), Gearfreak.nl (Katwijk) and vandenbergsurf.nl (Hoorn and Zandvoort). These shops have good selections, and know what they are ta...
