Re: Advise on impact vest similar to DaKine surface vest

I wanted a Whip, because of the extra bouyancy it has, and went to a shop to try it on with my own harness...unfortunately, didn't like the fit. I tried on several vests similar to the Dakine (Mystic, Prolimit, RideEngine) and ended up with the RideEngine. There wasn't much difference. Funnily enoug...

Re: Fatality in Lanzarote, Spain

The thing with people is we're all different, and we react differently..theres no 'logic' or a given manner of reacting to wearing a helmet. It might make some people overconfident, others it might make more careful...others again would be indifferent to it, certainly after getting used to wearing o...

Re: Dakine chameleon harness

Yotamss, watercamper is right. It will be fine for a beginner. Comfy enough, and cheap, and by the time you are no longer a beginner and you want to buy your next harness it will be easier choosing your next (probably more expensive) harness.

Have fun.

Re: Dakine chameleon harness

Hi, I have a Dakine Chameleon. I don't use it much, I usually use a ride engine with a rope slider, but when I use my Twintip I switch to the Chameleon, because it has a hook...don't have one on the ride engine. The chameleon is definitely a cheaper harness, and I doubt it will last a very long time...

Re: Buoyancy Devices

Andy, I think the first question you need to answer is: why am I not wearing an Impact vest? It should be the standard way of going on the water, no matter the conditions. There is never a reason not to wear it. It doesn't bother any kiter, in any style, if you know what I mean. So, I don't think yo...

Re: Scary one

The guy flying into the rocks is Dave Edwards, one of the second generation pioneers...and not afraid of anything. Once guy too. Never understood how he didn't get badly hurt in that crash.

Re: What is with prices?

from my pov, i know which product i want and would prefer to buy directly from the manufacturer without paying a dealer 30%+ for adding no value to me. You can. Kauper XT does exactly that. It is run by Rainer Kauper and his wife. No ads, no middle dealers, all online. Price of the Maverick, a wave...
