Surfinsmiley reminded me of my Shinn Capri GT...must have banished it from my thoughts, tho it still lives in my shed. My Shinn Capri GT....bought it for windy, messed up surf, turns ou to be only usable in perfect glassy water and light winds. What was I thinking?

My last 12 meter...and I knew it when I bought it.

Simply too large and slow in the surf.

I know I'll give it another shot in some time...and regret it again.

Sometime a nice carve onto a wave face using a kite downloop puts the kite in an ideal position of upstroke drift as you ride the wave going off the wind Right on. It all really depends on your kite. Whichever kite you use, though, line tension is crucial. Boardhandling has major impact on line tension. Radius of your turn, timing of your turn....

From Amsterdam, the beach to go to in SW to WSW is Wijk aan Zee. In NNW to NW, it's ijmuiden. Southerly? Ijmuidenslag. Renting gear is impossible, as far as I know.

Sorry, couldn't help it. I actually use an older version of the O'Neill SUPERFREAK TROPICAL 2MM SPLIT TOE BOOT. They work pretty good. The sole will stop a lot.
