Re: Quiver add-on or line changes

The effect of linelength is not that strong. I'd go for the extra kite.

Awesome shots, Tillman. If I had the money and access to such flat water, I'd love to buy your board.

Re: Which Kites and lines lenght are most people using for 30 to 50 knots

I like to ride the perfect size on my surfboard....I ride the 5 from 30 - 40 knots. Above 40: my 4. Have only had the 4 out once (it's brand-new). Don't know the upper limit, but 45 steady was no issue, I am guestimating 50 is no problem.

22 meter lines on all my kites. Have but one standard bar.

Re: I bit the bullet...all your fault! Lol

Thx! Im clueless, so all tips are very welcome. The board is quite flexible...I'll either build one, but I'll probably look for a second hand.

Or...I'll add some volume and stiffness to the board with Paulownia.

Re: I bit the bullet...all your fault! Lol

Ok, guys, I am going to check the flex...and if it isn't all that bad, I might still give it a shot. If it is...I might have to build one myself. I have some Paulownia lying around.

I'll keep an eye out for boards....groan. I need a bigger shed :-(

Thx!

Re: Best Lightweight Versatile Surfboard

I'd look into the DSD Stallion...built tough, and especially for the conditions you're after. It doesn't come with inserts....but I have seen them with inserts....either customised after being built....or by the builders themselves. I'd send appletree a mail. appletreesurfboards.com I have one of th...

Thx Hugh. I'm slightly taller than you, but I'm at that same weight. That should be a good indication.

Re: Why is everyone hating on old kites ?

If you want to use older, cheap kites on land, see if you can find any Peter Lynn ARCS. Any model will suit you fine, and all are safe, and very well suited for use on land or snow.

Re: I bit the bullet...all your fault! Lol

Foil, Faklord, thx for your replies! I am not really deadset on using the Shinn...it's more that it's a directional, I've got it in the shed and it's been a disappointment so far....it's been gathering dust since I bought it. It is indeed rather sharp, rails are thin etc. A bit scary, in combination...
