Re: take off speed

Does anyone have a boat with a tower tall aenough and rope short enough to match the angle of pull of a kite?

Maybe a really short rope?
Or normal rope from the mast of a cruising catamaran?

Re: I Do Not Know How Girls Work

Besides stance, everything else being equal, board size should be roughly scaled to body size. Consider the extreme examples: A person is on a board twice their own body height. They will have trouble turning it. I didn't tell you how tall they are. They could be a midget riding my 179cm twin tip......

Re: I Do Not Know How Girls Work

I vote for board length being proportional to (non-gendered) human height, and board width being proportional to weight. I was just talking to a very light girl about wake boarding, and she was telling me how much of a difference the right board makes. She couldn't get an edge on a normal board. So ...

Re: Total beginner advice

Haven't tried a Double agent, but I did hear some negatives. Thin board, so less flotation makes learning surface transitions harder. Also hurts more when you fall on the edge. No short mast option. Low profile foil means you may outgrow it faster. Most people now look for medium aspect (slingshot, ...

Reposting what I just wrote in a similar thread: Definitely foothooks! SOMETHING to help you ride on the surface (weight so far forward the board dowesn't foil right away). So a. a board with tracks, b. foothooks mounted all the way forward, or c. a shimmed rear stabilizer. Or some combination of th...

Re: Foilboard Xtreme Crossing Fundraiser: Bahamas Florida, December 2017

Sounds like good marketing. Not too extreme though. Much longer crossings have already been made, in much tougher conditions.

Much longer rides have already been made without support boats.

I do love kiteboard crossings, just not the XTREME hype.

Re: Curved Masts and vortex generators on hydrofoils

Bizarre. Someone is taking thmself very seriously, without understanding anything about the current state of hydrofoil kiteboard, or anything about the scientific method. Maybe someone got grant money to do vortex generator research, and they decided to go kiteboarding? This "research" is just BS th...

Re: New foil from Ozone

I don't have any foilKites but the hyperlink is quite tempting.

Has anyone modified one by removing the "hybrid" tube zippers? Even lighter weight for marginal winds?

Very few reviews of the ultra. Wonder what's going on.
Kite are better and last longer, so people upgrade their quivers less frequently?

Airush ultra is first kite w spectra fiber, and kiters are waiting for someone else to be the guinea pig?
