Re: Ketos: Is one-bolt mount strong enough?

Hi Peter, I am curious of why 80 cm (shorter mast) is better in Low wind conditions ? This is something i never heard before and I always look to improve the Low end where I can ride. -D. A few times the short 80 cm for marginal dead onshore winds 5-7 knots, so used quite rare, but on some hot good...

Re: What's the worst thing about kite surfing?

Ha haa, I know this is just a thread for fun Kosta - but unless you are learning to foil, dead onshore winds are great, maybe the very best, for both super light winds and for waves, when hydrofoiling :naughty:

Loads of advantages when onshore, not present with other boards !

Re: Bar sheeting travel / kite's angle of attack.

Aaaah, okay. Well, you can (with most kites) cut the rearlines fully (infinite sheeting), and the kite will still "fly" very well, fully depowered of course, and not possible to steer the kite. You can not steer/turn the kite, not even with rear lines if too much depower stroke and bar pushed out - ...

Re: are newer boards easier?!

Hi folks, I currently use a moses flunte which I bought18 months ago as being their beginner/wave model. Its all good and I love it, still not doing much in the way of going round corners, can tentatively carve to toe sometimes but no where near gybing. I was chatting to someone at the beach who sa...

Re: How to self land core sensor pro bar

If I have to go ashore really powered, or for a break far away from the launch point, or just to get ashore - I ditch the safety first, and then climb the frontline to the V, and from then on both frontlines till up at the kite :thumb: IF something should go wrong (never experienced this though), I ...

Re: Bar sheeting travel / kite's angle of attack.

Hi, I have recently been told that the Ocean Rodeo Stickshift bar has 115 cm of bar sheeting travel if the adjustable stopper is set at the very top (which seems HUGE to me). My question is: How long can a bar's sheeting travel be without messing with the kite's angle of attack? Tks ZERO cm is the ...

Re: Ketos: Is one-bolt mount strong enough?

Roughly, since you asked: I ride 90 and 100 cm almost every time. A few times the short 80 cm for marginal dead onshore winds 5-7 knots, so used quite rare, but on some hot good summerdays it can be epic just to be able to get out :D 100 cm is the "go to" mast for normal wave or choppy small wave co...

Re: What's the worst thing about kite surfing?

Being alone on so many awesome days, definitely the worst :( Selflaunching and landing in any wind is easy, but finding others to ride with when conditions are "top", are often the most difficult and I dont like it, eventhough used to it, and of course prefer top conditions alone, over a social sess...

Re: On Shore Wave Kites

I have a totally different opinion and experience than some in this thread... Namely that in onshore you need a kite that flies further forward, turns on a dime easily and depowered, and loads of depower. Totally opposite to the "deep sitting" grunty kites like the Kahoona which is not good for onsh...

Re: Ketos: Is one-bolt mount strong enough?

I have been using the Ketos wings and masts for almost three years now, and last two and a half years also Ketos boards, and never had any issues. Loving. and one of the reasons it is perfect for me, the "one screw only" for assembling/disassembling and changing boards/masts :thumb: Interesting if o...
