Re: Why is wingfoiling so popular?

Same here, I don't jump and ride strapless.

Loads of things to strive for, endless progression options :D

But all windsports are fun

Re: Why is wingfoiling so popular?

My question though is what is the goal of the progression you are striving for? Want to ride waves at Chicama, I get it, but mowing the lawn on a wing foil is hardly progress. But isn't this the very same no matter which windsport? If you are just mowing the lawn, because of lack of talent, it is t...

Anyone using wingcams?

I do, find it great, almost like you can enjoy your session again when home, or share with others, and even better, sometimes shoot others when close or on the same wave. Friends really liked this picture from the sunset yesterday - I dont exactly know why, but would share: Sunset2.jpg Water is 6 de...

Re: rumour: fone's new kite uses brainchild technology

What is Brainchild's tech ??? Brainchild is the factory that Ralf Groesel (former Duotone designer) have set up in Europe Macedonia. They produce eg. The Harlem Force and the rumor has it, that Fone might use this facory/Campus for there next kite in colab with Ralf. Which could be a bold move from...

I know ketos, gong and core use 90x165.

Yes, it seems indeed that is the standard now, also F-One offering this.

Who do not offer 165x90?

Besides AFS.

Re: Why is wingfoiling so popular?

Hi Oliver No, dont depower the wing nor pump with your legs - WAY too complicated when you can not jibe yet. Your problem is you dont carve sufficiently tight on your wingfoil. Use the biggest FluidT you got, they are quite low AR (5.8-9) and turns well. You can practice on your kitefoil beforehand ...

Re: Pansh Kestrel, high performance kite

@ Peter Frank Judging from what kind of kites you have liked over the years, I'd say get rather an 8m Kestrel 😉 Ha haa, thanks mede, and yes it sounds interesting. Eventhough, their website says min 10.9 knots for a 75 kg rider. This sounds like a crazy amount of wind, where a 5 or 6 m2 Peak kite i...

Re: High Y vs Low V bars

I also prefer the high Y, eventhough almost instinct now.

And you are spot on Chriz76, your knot is perfect you just have to find the trim that works for you, and no problems regarding strength.

Re: Why is wingfoiling so popular?

Hi Oliver (Smeagle), interesting, agree with bragnouff, and I have a tip for you. I am experienced in kitefoil and can jibe with footswitch totally proficiently. Learning to wingfoil, I quite fast found the key (and difference) when carving and switching feet, as I had the same issues: Lean forward ...

Re: Pansh Kestrel, high performance kite

Apparently not very known, since googling "Hawk kite" gave nothing?

Thanks for explaining Regis :thumb:
