Re: board - how to MacGyver connection?

Yep. I think filing 3mm, or 1.5mm on each side is doable and simplest way to do it.
Maybe not carbon, but an aluminum plate to mount cheaper setup.

Re: board - how to MacGyver connection?

Is the problem both ways or just the width? For the width it’s only a bee’s dick over 3mm different so just open up the hole. If length is also a problem maybe use two existing inserts then do the drill through board for the other 2. It's only width. On length the plate has extra holes which match ...

Re: board - how to MacGyver connection?

Right so you keep the carbon mast, but use a different mounting plate, an aluminum mounting plate which you then modify by drilling holes. It's not all one piece right? I assume you have a carbon mast, carbon wing and a carbon mounting plate which you can take off? No, it’s one piece mast and the p...

Why can't you buy a standard 90mm aluminum mast and just drill some holes in the new mast that fit your current mounting holes?
It’s carbon, I’d prefer to not drill in it...
Widening holes in aluminum plate is a good option just to be able for someone else to use it I guess.

board - how to MacGyver connection?

I have a MHL 2013 board with plate connection which has 3.375” width between M8 holes. Any suggestion how to easily modify it, or to use an adapter (not the glue-on) to fit standard 3.5” (90mm) spacing mast to it?

Nothing to be sorry about.
Glad you got someone a great wing and got yourself a proper size!

Which 13m have you got? How does it feel riding it?

Re: How much are old kites holding me back?!

Modern kites are shiny Cayennes and not only girls but also guys dig it. Safer, faster, predictable :) ... The Pansh I just took delivery of is no Cayenne but fits OP's budget. ... I still keep an F-Arc for on occasional trip down memory lane. I will have it long after the Pansh is gone. I’d compar...

Re: How much are old kites holding me back?!

The question is about of same essence as "how much different would be a new Porsche if I upgrade from old VW Beetle" Well, maybe not as much but still...:) So I'd compare it to choosing between an old Porsche 944 and a Hyundai Accent just a few years old. Unless you really enjoy the soul of an old ...

Re: How much are old kites holding me back?!

... Disclaimer: i don't have any foil kites. I'm looking to get one for Hydrofoiling, been kiting 16 years and can fly a kite blindfolded and talking with someone at the same time. Still i get recommended to get a low aspect foil kite. So it can't be that easy to use them..... I've had many. I rode...

Full 3/2 for me. If air temps are cold too I’d take a windbreaker jacket over the 3/2.
4/3 wetsuit is for 45 degrees
