Re: Too Old?

I started kiting when I was 30 and riding cable when I was 31. Since then I have had both shoulders scoped my knees give me trouble from time to time as well as my lower back. I spent my 20's in the gym lifting heavy weights. I'm 37 now and I predominantly ride wake-style. I can not do all the tric...

Re: Your worst kitesurf injury ?

The HDHP covers most costs but I think out of pocket is $7500. You were awake when they drilled screws??? I have a 1ft long incision on the right side and 2 inch on the left side. I was out the whole time. Think it took 2hrs. It seemed like the surgery was worse than the fracture. When I woke up my ...

Re: Your worst kitesurf injury ?

No idea. American health care system. The 145K was for surgery. Avoid an HDHP if you can. It's covering most costs but its bullshit. Still paying several thousand out of pocket.

Re: Your worst kitesurf injury ?

Couple questions: Were you riding boots or straps when you had your injury? Dr said you can drive and Fly... Which leg is fractured (right or left)? There was no way my leg would bend after surgery. It took 2 weeks then they put a 45 degree brace on. My quad just started working yesterday. In octob...

Re: Your worst kitesurf injury ?

Hey windchaser, funny that I am in the exact same situation.. broke my tp on august 13, when landing really badly after kite got overpowered in mid air during a jump (nothing crazy, like 20 feet), I also realized right away my knee was gone and had to body drag to shore about 1/2 mile screaming lik...

Re: Time to leave Florida!!!

It makes me feel really unsafe to live in Hawaii. But I guess that's the price you have to pay to live in a beautiful place I lived in Hawaii for a few years. We had a few hurricanes come from the east. The mountainous terrain (Haleakala and Mauna Kea) would shear them to nothing before hitting Oah...

Re: I hate the wmfg pump
That is exactly how you are supposed to use it. Use your legs. Using the back to pmp is exactly the wrong way to do it. OP I think at some point using your back you might end up having a disc slide out. It doesn't take much.
Hard to do with the smaller pumps that force a hunched over...

Re: I hate the wmfg pump

I'm 6' and this is a back saver along with high flow air valves. Could look into this and make it work on kites for $30 (https://m.harborfreight.com/air-tools/air-compressors/12v-100-psi-high-volume-air-compressor-69284.html) beware: harbor freight tools are total crap and it'll probably break on yo...
