Re: Core Xlite size recommendation for beginner foiler

I ride and prefer Xlites in the surf for light wind foiling. Love them. Have ridden many 1 strut and no strut kites. I would say the Xlites are maybe less grungy than some other brands but they have a much greater range. Particularly the top end. They are also more reactive in my opinion to bar move...

Re: Lift 250 for winging?

Black swan- You can’t tell any difference between the 250 HA and the new Surf 250 V2. I actually compared the two today at our local shop. This is why they discontinued the 250HA I assume. I now have a lot of time on the HA 250 and HA 200 and am riding both with a 40 tail. Really love both. The 250 ...

Re: Lift 250 for winging?

I have been riding the Lift 250 HA with the 40 tail for both winging and prone surfing. Freaking love it! I will focus on winging. Using a 5-1 105 liter board. I weigh 200 lbs. Compared to the Armstrong 1850 it has more glide and speed. Faster and more sporty. Armstrong may have a bit more low end. ...

Balanced wings

Seems like in all the wing reviews they describe the wings as being “balanced”. What the heck does this mean? Has anyone ever ridden an unbalanced wing? :)

Re: Wingfoilers versus Kitefoilers?

Wing foil surfing and now prone foil surfing has ruined my interest in kite foil surfing. Went out the other day with my kite and all I wanted to do is cut my lines when I was on the wave. I felt so limited. Nothing beats the feeling of foiling on a nice swell/wave free to choose your lines and angl...

Re: what are you workin on? kitefoil strapless freestyle progression

Really good strapless videos! For me. Straps are for flat water to enable all air style tricks. Strapless is all about the surf.

Re: Armstrong 311 for kitefoiling?

Are you an experienced surfer? If so you could make that 3-11 work for prone but it will be a longer learning curve. You could eventually end up happy with the one board quiver but a 3-11 is very small to learn to prone even if you are an experienced surfer. More volume and length for prone surf foi...

Re: Light wind Boosting

In my opinion, boosting (Foil or no foil) is all about speed, leverage (line tension) and of course, timing. I don’t think the smaller kite advantage (moves faster) makes up for the slower traveling speeds on the bigger foils. For me, it is race foil all day for boosting and ride the biggest kite yo...

Wings in the surf

Yesterday my buddy got caught inside at our local beach break and he popped his wing bladder. It was a 7M Gong; pumped reasonably stiff. The waves were not that big but enough to jackknife (fold) the leading edge right at the leash connection point and boom! I haven’t taken taken it on the head yet ...
