Kite Gear on HongKong Airlines

Anyone traveled with kiting gear on HongKong Airlines? Looking to take the usual kite gear with two twin-tip boards. Does the use of a 'golf bag' avoid the extra fees for oversize?

Re: Pain in foot after kiting.

Got the pads on properly? In a rush to get out kiting once I mistakenly put the pads on the wrong feet so the arch support was on the outside of my foot. My feet ached and cramped as a result.

New Safety Release ISO Standard Requirements?

Apparently a new safety release ISO standard (ISO/DIS 21853:2019 ??) was released this year. Includes requirement that safety release be activated and reset with single hand.

I'm curious about the details...anyone have or seen this new ISO standard that can summarize the new requirements?

Re: Naish pivot with ocean rodeo bar

I've flown my Pivot with both an OR Pilot and Airush Core. No problems. Both are low V, same as Naish's bar.

Re: Fastest way how to set up your kite

I've got 2 bars for 4 kites so doesn't work for me. Instead I've used the method in this video with success, though you need to be very disciplined about it.

Re: Trouble finding board after crash

Same as Obe_1. I immediately start body dragging in direction of kite when I fell, not worrying about where the board is. I go for a 10 count or so, and then body drag back the other way. I always spot my board and often am able to retrieve it. The key is getting on the body drag as soon as possible...

Re: Where are all the used trainer kites? And other newb questions

I'm new to kiting, having started in September. Borrowed a friends 3m, 2-line trainer and used it a couple times. Then picked up an older 4-line, 4.5m LEI kite (with real bar and harness)...much better! Gave me the real feel for flying a kite. Enough power that I had to respect it, but no too much t...
