Re: Tried a backroll, broke some ribs!

getting little sympathy from my wife who's a medical type person. Yeah I get that too. "What do you mean you are sick with the flu, that's not sick, I've seen a guy lose 2 limbs today." Zero sympathy, ever. Kiting based injury isn't an injury at all, as it's always my own fault it doesn't count som...

Re: Best Wetsuit for kitesurf? 4/3

winter custom fit 5.5/4. Summer suit just a cheapy that fit well in the shop. Balloon legs stopped with a red hot nail. The best sessions, for me, seem to be in the winter- the colder air is heavier and therefore stronger so I bought expensive for that. The summer is far too hot with that suit on- d...

Re: Floatation/impact vest

A lot depends on wind conditions at my local spot. If it's pure onshore I don't use the vest as I don't have to go far out to tack back. If it's cross shore I will wear the vest. If it's in between I will make the call but I have been caught out. I always wear the vest when sea temps are really cold.

Re: Upgrading to a new board

Same as you two weeks ago. Upgraded to a Shinn Monk and the difference is unreal. Remember that carbon boards, whilst being more expensive and lighter, are also typically stiffer and will not be as smooth over the chop as a wood core. See you at Camber! Looks good for today! (Although I might go to ...

The timing of your loop is crucial, Try looping your kite just before you reach top of your jump.
Bad advise :nono:
Yeah that didn't sound right at all, the videos all suggest the same progression. Anton's are the best.

Re: Which is your preferred trim system?

I want more than above is way shorter and way simpler chickenloop I have Best bars too. If you think the chicken loop is long on the RP try the GP. The loop is so big I could climb through it or use it to hoist a car :) these two bars are interesting though, one is clam cleat on a line and the othe...

Re: Why do I need a much bigger board AND bigger kite for a heavier rider?

I'd say you have to consider the lightest and heaviest wind days you enjoy riding in and then ask whether you'd rather a big board and a little board to enjoy these two extemes. If your only going to go out when it's 16 to 30knts then one middle size kiteboard would probably do you. If you want to b...

Re: German online shops, info plz !

Purchased from kite pirates- highly recommended. You can phone them and they speak perfect English. I asked for my shipment to be delayed as I was on holiday- the order was processed with typical German efficiency i.e. perfect execution. They had some great prices and shipped to the UK in 2 days if ...

Re: Advice for a beginner

Haven't used either but the local schools have been using lithiums for the past 3 or 4 years. So I'd say this is the best beginner kite you are likely to get. School kite = super predictable (as much as you're gonna get) and top build quality to survive constant tomahawks in the learning phase. I've...

Re: Your worst kitesurf injury ?

Broke tiny bone under big toe on the first day. Slightly tweaked knee Pulled groin Black and blue from feet soles to arse cheeks getting dragged for 30m over chalk bed- no major injuries. 10 years kiting, all injuries during learning stage. Nothing for a good few years now thankfully. Learning in wa...
