How to check accuracy of Kite/Wing pump

Hi, Maybe I'm being too OCD about this ? but, Is there a way of checking the accuracy of a pump. It's stated on my Wings that they 'require' between 7 to 9 psi, A 2 psi variance, seems a big ask for the gauge? or am I over-thinking things.

Re: Best Kite pump today?

The 'best' Pump, is the one that warms up your arms, during the first stages, then your legs during the final thrusts ! it also has a fitness meter, It's called the 'Can you hold a conversation while pumping up your kite' meter.

It’s got 4 +1 not 8+3

As reductions go, how can you say it’s still overboard?

Re: Surfboard: these small cracks normal?

Difficult to tell from the photo, it looks like shattering/cracking of the surface layer by either a pointed object, ( like a stone if the board was put down heavily on it?) or the centre of a heel dent, but that would need to be quite deep to cause that star pattern. Either way, something caused it...

Re: carbon got milky from wetsanding

Hi Wavy navy, If you are not bothered about keeping the carbon weave showing, then a quick way to get a good finish is to spray a couple of coats of Hi Build undercoat/primer from a rattle can, lay it on thick, then block sand it back until the black foil shows through in lots of places, you will ha...

Re: carbon got milky from wetsanding

When 'wet sanding' the resin coat above the carbon weave, the water (add a tiny bit of washing up liquid to the water) will become slightly milky due to the powdered resin which is being removed. If the water starts to get black/grey, or you notice black/grey water on the production/sand paper, then...

Re: 2021 Duotone Kites poor construction quality ?

Hi Octavt, I totally agree with you. The glue used in the building of the kite, must to some extent, add to the structural integrity of the panel joins, If this glue fails then to 'some extent' that integrity will be decreased, and will rely totally on the stitching , which has come apart. A home re...

Re: 2021 Duotone Kites poor construction quality ?

Am I missing something? Duotone say the glue is 'just' to hold the panels together while stitching. OK. so the glue is not considered an important part in the panel to panel joint strength ? Then the stitching is the only thing left to hold the panels together. In your photos the stitching has faile...
