Re: Trouble finding board after crash

Yes, that works well if you have not crashed your kite as well. If the kite goes down everything takes longer to organize and colors on the board, top & bottom, really help a lot. And don’t say Just don’t crash the kite That’s just f’in ______. Ah yeah, this is exactly what happened to my friend, h...

Re: Trouble finding board after crash

My mate has a carbon board, he crashed and lost it, it took me about 15/16 passes and some blind luck to find it. He said he's never get another black board! If I ever crash now and lose my board the first thing I do if I can't see it immediately is body drag upwind asap, then tack back, usually I c...

Re: Outside line connection affecting water re-launch?

From the relatively few light wind relaunches I've had to do you don't really need much torque, it's more just "steering" the kite on the surface to the edge of the window, if there's enough wind it will go, if there isn't it just sits in the water like a retarded duck.

Re: 11 or 12?

IIRC you're a 'big boy' in the IOM? Going 9m to 12m is very nice, so get a 12m and you probably won't use the 14m any more because if it's not blowing enough to make the 12m work you'll almost certainly go straight to the 17m. Ooh, you've actually thrown a spanner amongst the pigeons there(?) that ...

Really? You must think kiting is the 'end all'. Well, its not.
It's not, to you, anymore...and that's fine! Everyone is entitled to their opinion. :D

I'm still happy being stoked and that I have a hobby I love more than any other I've ever had.

If they are all the same kite, of the same year, I'd go for 11. If not...I'd still go for 11. The larger the kites, the larger the gap in between can be.

As a rule. Pemba makes a good point.
Ha ha, ok, that's 2 votes for 11 and my already preconceived sway towards 11.

Re: 11 or 12?

I think it might depend a bit on the type of kite, some are more powerful and slow for their size than others. I (lower intermediate) have both an 11 and a 12 of similar type and I find the 11 is still quite fast, I can still (pussy) loop it quite easily without thinking too much about it, the 12 n...

11 or 12?

Morning guys!

I'm padding out my quiver, I currently have a 9, 14 and a 17.

I feel I'm missing something between the 9 and the 14.

A couple of times now I've gone out on the 9 because I would have been overpowered on the 14 and it's been lacking.

So if this was you would you go 11 or 12?

You can buy a decent mountain bike for the price of one kite and not sit on your hands waiting for wind.
But then you'd be shitty mountain biking instead of kiting?

I could buy 1250 mars bars instead of a kite too but then I'd be a fat git with no teeth instead of a kitesurfer.
