Re: Lightwind assessment

My lightwind kite is a 12m flite and I will use it to foil down to 8 knotts. The way I can tell if there is enough wind is to inflate the kite and if it floats by itself (while holding 5th line) there is enough wind to foil. Now this will differ based on what kite you use and also may depend on your...

Re: Recognize this mast?

Does anyone recognize this mast? Carbon with four M6 brass nuts on the top, three at the bottom. I’d like to buy one in a 60-70 cm length. Thanks for any suggestions. John Looks like a mast from the c1 foil from rupel watersports on ali express. If you message them they can make you any size mast y...

Re: One kite for old school AND foiling

Everything you list you want makes me think 10m Ocean Rodeo flite! Its a 3 strut light wind kite with huge range and boosts huge.

Re: trimless bar setup for racing???

Below the bar? Is that 4 inches of depower pulled below the bar?

You wouldnt have lots of leverage to pull the trim but you also wouldnt have to reach over your bar to trim and change your point of balance.

Re: comparison one strut kites

hey can anybody give a comparison of all the one strut kites on the market? especially for foiling? i am interessted on weight, depower ability because i kite mostly in gusty winds, low wind water relaunch, etc... how to choose a good range for foiling with a big wing? i am 75kg, want to foil in 8-...

Re: Jumping=new love of my life!

Just because you can't do it doesn't mean its impossible. In 11 knots i have hit 10m on a prodigy and an old tkf foil and I suck compared to some local foilers. so with a fast wing and fast light kite should be able to in 8 knotts. The faster you go the higher the jump and those race foils go fast. ...

Re: Andersson Foils Bi-Directional

I was thinking of building one of these the other day. My vision would have hinges on the wings so the front wing sits at 1 degree and the rear at -2. Otherwise it will be a horribly inefficient foil. This looks to have both wings set at 0 which will be rideable but lack top speed and stability.

Re: the right sized kite

As others have said I think it will depend highly on the wing style you ride on but also your body weight. I have flown a 5m in 12-14 knots on a medium aspect and had no problem going up wind but I am a lightweight. I actually had to loop the kite twice at times to get up(once to get on the board an...

Looks like huge wing area :)

Not sure why so thick, let the wing bend, does not need to be super rigid:)

Sretno i

Pozdrav !

Iirc ideally the thickness being 9% of the chord and anything more than that slows terminal velocity. What is the ratio?

Re: More tacking questions

Just move your foot back to near (in front of) the back strap. You can put it in later. CG +1. This is what I do. I step my back foot on top of the front screw for the back foot strap. I actually ride like this until I go for a jump and then quickly jam my foot in the strap then send it. If ...
