Re: Bermuda - Any current info on kiteboarding there?

Bringing this old thread back to life... I've never been to Bermuda, but may be going in early July for a family trip. Is there any consistent wind then and what direction is best? Which side or part of the island would have the best chance of wind then? FWIW, we're looking at the Pink Beach area (T...

Re: How old is your oldest kite you still ride on?

This thread makes me think about what it is exactly that wears kites out. We all know that UV/sunlight is very bad, but based on my very limited experience I see the most wear and tear on the places where my kites get folded. The thought of rolling them end to end without folding them at all is appe...

Re: Cumberland Island GA

Looks nice, but how would you get out to it? Even with a boat capable of handling the open ocean in windy conditions it doesn't look like there's a great place to anchor or tie up. Also, just curious, how do you know that Christmas Creek is a sharking mating area? BTW, I kite in NC and there are a l...

Re: Harbour Island Bahamas

Maybe you can arrange a boat trip to the Schooner Cays which would be south of you, to the west [EDIT: more like north and west] of Lighthouse Point... https://youtu.be/3wNm2VEXjAU
This looks dreamy!

Is this one near you too? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GDn9BHTMBl4

Re: Beta on Kiting in Jupiter Fl

Check out the local shops and give them a call. If it was that bad there wouldn't be any shops in FL... http://www.jupiterkiteboarding.com/weather
The statistics for Feb. look reasonably good.

Re: What about kiting in the olympics?

Excellent commentary edt... I totally get it! I was still windsurfing when the IOC/ISAF replaced it with kiteboarding, and then switched back again (or something like that). Yes, the windsurfing competition probably hurts the sport more than helps it. Why would anyone want to windsurf after watching...

Re: Wetsuits: Front Zip Vs Back Zip

I don't want to get too far OT, but i'd like feedback on the NP Edge 5/4/3 rear zip suit. I have this suit, but am disappointed that the 5mm area is really just the chest and back maybe. Everything else just feels thin. Is the Edge a comparatively low-end suit or is it pretty good? When I bought it ...

Re: Cabrinha Radar vs Slingshot Rally

Great comments in this thread... I agree the bar pressure of the Rally can get high when powered up. I've been thinking of moving the steering lines to the rear position on the tip, but am hoping it doesn't make it too quick handling. TomW's comment about the sheeting and throw is good too. I don't ...

Re: Cabrinha Radar vs Slingshot Rally

3rd year rider here... I've had Rallies (and a Turbine) from day 1 and it was a great choice. These are excellent kites for beginners, but are also way above the kook/noob level for long term use. They're just great all-around kites. I also agree that the Sentinel bar (above the bar trim) is excelle...
