Re: Rebel 2018 vs. Core XR5

Wouldn't it be simpler just to make the steering lines longer by attaching, for example, an extra pair of 4 inch pigtails then making the front trim longer to compensate thus increasing 'depower' by 4 inches? It's what I'd do on my setup, or is this more complicated with a Core bar??? Certainly pos...

Re: Kite equipment, weight (scale results for a trip)

What I found interesting was weighing a Core and a North kitebag, which weigh about 1 kg each, meaning you will save weight by not taking your kitebags. I pack my kites in these compression bags from Ride Engine when traveling with my big travel bag. Haven't put them on a scale, but it's practicall...

I like it. but wary of these startups. still waiting on my soloshot. That is the rub. :-? I'm pretty tempted and probably will give it a go. My self-justification is that overall it seems like a relatively simple piece of hardware. How hard could it be to make it real and deliver on time?!

Quark - A Gimble for GoPro's (If you're not totally burned on funding campaigns)

Made by a startup (I'm guessing) called Noir Matter (very trendy). The device is called the QUARK. It's suppose to be waterproof and said to be able to change the world. We'll see I guess, but if your into filming while kiting it could make editing a lot less of a pain or just more enjoyable for the...

Re: Revl Arc cam: Anybody preorder one?

This is the accessory I was particularly interested in. https://vimeo.com/225415240 https://vimeo.com/225415240 They've (Revl in Early Backers FB Group) showed this twice now in live video casts. Each time was a different iteration of the 2nd axis, so they are progressing on it. But you can see it u...

Re: Revl Arc cam: Anybody preorder one?

I've preordered 1-camera and a few of there initially offered accessories. There was quite a long period, that ended about 4-6 weeks ago, of very little updates (either via e-mail or social media). But, now they are doing live video casts, there responses to questions in the Earlier Backer FB Group ...

I really enjoyed this one, thought it was well produced, and will definitely point a couple friends toward it. Good job and thank you!

Re: Chicken Loop Bye Bye?

There will be little load on the stoppers or strap so you could tap 2 x 6mm threads into the rear of the bar and bolt on a couple of 6mm x 25mm nylon washers with a polyester strap secured with 25mm stainless washers, and use some loctite to stop the bolts backing out. You wouldn't drill all the wa...

Re: Chicken Loop Bye Bye?

Now I added a teflon tape and it slides like hell!!! 20170224_181508.jpg Nem0, can you explain the construction of the "stoppers" and "retaining strap"? Teflon tape was a good idea! The stoppers will be to limit the CL range of movement and the retaining strap will be to prevent the CL jumping over...

Re: Chicken Loop Bye Bye?

It does not seem to slide very well when powered up, just to sticky for me to like the feel. Tried to shorten the travel distance also but still not the right feel for me. Good luck, hope it works better for you. Now I added a teflon tape and it slides like hell!!! 20170224_181508.jpg Nem0, can you...
