Building a lightweight compact plywood hydrofoil board

Is it possible?

Basically a little bigger than a wakeskate, with the amount of thin ply can it actually be lightweight or does it need to be foam to be reasonably light for air-travel?

Re: 2018 LF Thruster Foil

Not sure what your question actually is due to a possible typo but the Happy foil is great. Not super stable at low speed like the foil fish but much better glide and more fun going fast! You will progress past beginner and want something less draggy I don't have the happy pill board but I heard its...

Re: 2018 LF Thruster Foil

Just pick up a 2017 happy foil on sale this winter. Should be very cheap and great to take you up to solid intermediate. Better than the rocket foil in my opinion. Not sure about thruster but it's brand new and probably slightly better so it will cost more.

Re: Chinese KB Hydrofoil : 300 USD + shipment

So the Chinese Takuma is $450 including shipping for one unit and it works perfect for surf foiling and seems like decent quality? Did you just email sublimation and tell them you want "the big foil" or something? Because the product pictures vary widely and it seems they could ship the wrong type.....

Are the 2018 naish wings still compatible with liquid force fuselages?

Re: teaching absolute newbie

I wanted to teach my wife but I think it would be way too hard for a non kiter.

Re: Airush Ultra: one strut kite that meets expectations of a ram air lover

I've been riding the old Airush Varial X 12m in 10-13knots on foil and having a blast, it doesn't fly well under 10knots though, maybe will upgrade to the Ultra and then get a travel foilboard as well....

Re: Water starting Technique different?? Short Mast vs Long??

Starting is the same, longer mast is much better once you know how to ride and have deep enough water.

Re: Where to foil in the florida keys?

As long as you can find a launch site there is unlimited riding in the keys. Ocean side is shallow in spots but once you get out its deep and beautiful quick.

Do some research on Google maps satellite mode, its really fun finding new launches and spots in the keys like that

Re: Is it possible to kite a surf-foil?

I may buy one to mount on a paddle surf board, how much was shipping?

Do you like the quality? Is it worth $500 ?

Lots of us would be interested in your review of the foil with pictures if possible
