Re: My first sessions with the Flysurfer Soul 12, a short video

In my opinion 55cm is perfect, and far better than the 50cm recommended by Flysurfer.

Re: Woo3 and Xensr compared

What it's worth is not much! I think the video pretty much explains it...

Re: Kitesurfing offshore or side offshore winds

Most people stay near the shore most of the time. Doesn't make offshore winds safe though!

Re: Flysurfer Soul

Upwind seems comparable to Chrono V2, better than all of the LEIs I’ve had. It’s ok to not like it though....

Re: Flysurfer Soul

Bar pressure on the Edge is also unpleasantly light imho. All a matter of personal taste...

Re: Flysurfer Soul

If you consider bar pressure to be too high on the Soul, it's presumably because you are used to that spongey way too light feel of a lot of other foil kites, which I personally dislike. Much prefer having some obvious bar feedback.

Re: Which Kites and lines lenght are most people using for 30 to 50 knots

Not sure I agree about the above. I've only done it once but I have been out in 45-50 knots with gusts, on a 7m kite and I weigh 65kg. I was a short session and quite scary, but worth it if only for the 3 of us who did go out to take the piss out of the 10+ other kiters who turned up and wimped out...

Re: Fly surfer soul wind range

In 18-20knots you will be powered up! I’d compare it to 13-14m LEI power-wise. 20 knots is the absolute upper limit for me but I do only weigh 65kg. Flysurfer quote 26 knots as upper limit.

Re: flying a foil kite- tips needed

Yes although most race trim systems have a bigger total depower range than standard ones, the Ozone one pictured has about a metre of trim rope when fully depowered!

Yep so it’s 2:1 compared to a standard trim.
