Re: Where did stopper balls go?

You need a stopper to do any variation deadman, or any kind of move where you do a board off and pass the board around your body. You can also use the stopper to play air guitar, point both your fingers into a gun shape and do a double handed air gun while you go "Pow pow pow" with your mouth, and ...

Re: Foilers vs Kiters proportion now

Never met a foiler. I did meet a twin tip guy down at New Brighton during the week who checked out my foil as I was setting up and he asked what is was, as he had never seen one before. Mad or what? :-o Not sure if it's a UK thing, but they just don't seem to be common at all - I've seen them all o...

Re: Why do Foils Howl?

It'll be imperfections in the foil shape setting up oscillations. In super stiff items like carbon wings, there's little or no damping to take these oscillations out and they can build up rapidly. andrzejwodejszo has the primary answer here, it's almost always going to be from the trailing edge shap...

Re: Self Landing Foilkites in 20+kts

No part of me would take a foil out in 30-40 knots - launching would be nightmarish, self landing would be really nasty, but then no part of me would be kiting in that anyway - it's no fun in my view, it's just punchy unpleasant survival around here. I edge-backstall mine, when I had arcs, as a lear...

Re: Traceup no longer working X3

I can confirm they're not defunct and still active and supporting it, but not currently producing more surf related products at the moment, thought not ruling it out in future. Got an answer within minutes of emailing them.

Re: Traceup no longer working X3

Mine's still working strong and I'm happy with it but I've not had reply back from the support team. That said, the app was updated recently and they have more products listed than when I first bought, so I doubt they're defunct. I haven't been able to buy mounts for a while, other than from their s...

Re: FS Speed5 - not getting on with it

Popped some 6m extensions on it. Got the 150x50 King Gee, did a mixer check (it was about 10mm out) and took it out yesterday - totally different situation. in 10-12kts I can easily get upwind now, and when it gusted up to early 20s it was a beautiful feeling kite. And it depowers spectacularly - al...
