Re: Ozone Catalyst V1 vs Blade Trigger

I guess this is why so few kites are marketed as "beginner kites". It is not like the Catalyst is a kite for schools and the first few weeks after. Who would make such a kite? Who would buy such a kite? I have seen very skilled riders doing pretty advanced tricks with the Catalyst v1. I would argue ...

Re: Ozone kites 12m low end experience

Fair enough on a surfboard. Then again few would ride a 17m with a surfboard so my point stands - just that all the kites are smaller.

Re: Ozone kites 12m low end experience

Why do you asume an hypothetic 12m Zephyr should be slow ??? , and compared to what ??, to a wave kite ??( any kite will be a tad slower than a wave kite,it's common knowledge, as also it's that a bow kite with more projected área it's more powerful than a C shaped kite as far as both have similar ...

Re: Ozone kites 12m low end experience

That is not a question of constantly switching around. With my 9-12-17 I cover all conditions I have ever experienced. At 100kg+ I have never experienced wind more powerful than I could handle with a 9 (of course it exists, but for most kite spots wind that strong is very rare). A 3 kite quiver is q...

Re: Ozone kites 12m low end experience

In my experience , stay away from ozone if you're a big guy and really want low end from other models than the Zephyr..... I'm flying ozone since the first Instincts back in 2006.....lately owned Reos and Enduros.....i have always found they are amazing in médium to strong winds ...but don't know i...

Re: 7, 9 and 12 for a 100kg twintip rider

Assuming that good quiver for a 75kg twintip rider is 7, 9 and 12, what is the corresponding quiver for a 100kg? I am thinking it should be: 8, 10, 13. A bigger difference between being 75kg and 100kg than 1m. As an example when I´m on my 12m I will often kite with people that are out with 8-10m. O...

Re: Board size advice

Fully agree with Rob. Too small severely restricts you (as a beginner). Too big isn't really that much of a problem (at least not for a beginner). I don't really know why, but as Rob mentioned earlier smaller is for some reason seen as better. Even among kiters that are taking their first lessons I ...

Re: Emirates to Cape Town

It seems to me like they have changed the rules a bit since I flew with Emirates. Before it was super easy if you stayed below 30kg (overweight was ridiculously expensive). I didn't have to tell anyone. Checked it in. Was asked to go to the special luggage counter (in Europe - not Africa) and everyt...

Re: Santa Veronica Colombia

At least one missing I believe. Manzanillo del Mar is a kite spot as far as I know?

Would be cool to hear from locals how the conditions are throughout the season. And if Colombia is hit by the weaker winter winds the same way Cabarete seem to be.
