Re: Is OBX soundside still foilable?

Sadly, the answer to this question appears to be No (or maybe just not in the fall). I surely don't want to experience that kind of "foiling" ever again.

According to a local I talked to recently, this also happened part of last year in Laguna Madre (N Padre Island) near Corpus Christi.

Re: Attn Peter Frank - gong help

I am trying to decide on a new wing for Kiting. Currently riding Lift 170 classic. My current choices are between the New Curve, Curve H, or Fluid? these seem to be my best options for kiting. I like the lift but I am thinking a little more speed and glide may be nice. Thanks for any responses. Thi...

If all else fails, open a dispute with your credit card provider stating that what you were sent is not what you purchased.

Re: Quick releases opening unintended?

Just got in from a session where I unlocked a new trick. Unhooked kiteloop. Heard a snap. Then fell out of the sky. Luckily had a wee bit of catch before the ragdoll. 17015890338862010501437046647376.jpg No sign of the chicken loop at all after probably 10x on what's so far been the nicest bar I ha...

Re: Kitefoiling with Foil Drive assist

Anyone tried the Foil Drive Assist in very light wind. It may take a bit of thinking to set up however, I can see some benefits eg, easier to get to deep water in direct on shore breezes, possibly able to use a smaller kite and Foil plus if all goes wrong easier to get back to shore start point. Ju...

Re: Sad loss today

Another thing I noticed in the early posts is the complete absence of life vests. And indeed, why wear one?? They are very expensive, and uncomfortable. Expensive, really? They cost less than a hand pump and they are not expensive. When I started I had life vest on every time, now not always. In wi...

Re: Sad loss today

Nothing happens if you have a single skin or open cell kite. Just a tangle. Not sure about closed cell, but that’s also likely (far) less serious. Pros and cons. Another thing I noticed in the early posts is the complete absence of life vests. And indeed, why wear one?? They are very expensive, and ...

Re: seaweed issue OBX

If you’re local (or just lucky), then sure you can just wait and see. But if you need to travel + rent a house, then are you going to call the kite schools weeks in advance? Even if you do, there’s no guarantee the weeds won’t come back. Sure OBX remains a kiting destination. Just not a foiling one ...

Re: seaweed issue OBX

An update: Seaweed in Rodanthe/Waves/Salvo sucks so bad it makes you not bother assembling the kitefoil and wingfoil boards. You catch seaweed within 20 seconds on every tack and it kills all the fun. Efoil kind of powers through it, yet sometimes you still need to stop. There are tons of it everyw...
