Re: Downwind riding

Chop like that will be very slow moving so the 1440 should work fine. The 1210 will probably outpace the chop more, so it might require more work to stay on the power. Try them both though, they are both very good options for what you are describing. The goal is to stay at the peak or face of the c...

Re: Downwind riding

It sounds like your waves are very small and both the 1210 and 1440 should work very well for that application. Im very familiar with the 1440 and it pumps extremely well and has a VERY low stall speed. Glide is pretty good, but it is a very slow foil. You can speed it up with more slippery tails (...

Downwind riding

Hi all I am currently riding Takuma Kujira foils. I learned winging on the 1210 frontwing and later on added the 1440 for light wind. I tend to always go for 1210 as soon as there is suffient wind´, as it is faster and more fun in transitions, 360’s and so on. Plus I haven’t really found the rhythm ...

Tying on harness lines

Hi everyone I plan on attempting to wing with a harness. My wings (Wingride 3) doesn't have attachments points for harness lines, so I will be attaching the harness lines directly to the handles. I expect that i might need to adjust them a few times, so hoping someone can recommend a good knot for t...

Re: King of the Air 2021 - all info here (Marc Jacobs wins!)

Hmm this obsession with ”new” tricks bugs me a bit. While I aggree new and innovative tricks are exciting, they should only be rewarded if they. 1. meet the judging criteria, 2. meet a certain standard. In relation to judging criteria, this fx. means that no matter how technical or innovative the tr...

Re: How to turn a topic about a fatality into an absurd helmet discussion

"Same goes the other way around, no evidence that they don't reduce performance and no evidence that they actually protect you. Only guesswork. As I stated earlier I also believe in using helmet, because I assume they make me safer. But demanding evidence, but not presenting any yourself???" I thin...

Re: How to turn a topic about a fatality into an absurd helmet discussion

Bit worked up, are we? That's ok. No evidence exists that helmet use leads to any reduction of performance due to some sensory deprivation. If you could show some shred of evidence that it did, I can absolutely guarantee that any effect would be minimized to insignificance by always wearing a helme...

Re: How to turn a topic about a fatality into an absurd helmet discussion

When I said obtuse views, it's in reference to your incapacity of accepting some of the facts presented herein so far. Like dismissing the sensory effects of head gear, or the specificities of water based activities vs hard surface activities, or insisting again and again that not wearing is only a...

Re: How to turn a topic about a fatality into an absurd helmet discussion

If I was to follow you line of thought, a really good kiter who chooses not to wear a helmet, when on a tt, but chooses to put one on when fx. foiling will look and feel like a kook, as soon as he is on the foil??? makes absolutely no sense, and doesn't measure up to reality here. Bystanders aren't...

Re: How to turn a topic about a fatality into an absurd helmet discussion

I'm not aware that there is anybody here actively discouraging others (beginners) from wearing a helmet. Certainly I wouldn't. I have kited for something like 18 years but never with a helmet. I've never had an accident. Arguments presented in this topic have not convinced me that I should be weari...
