Re: Marc Jacobs - Kitesurf365 Podcast

And then you would be more impressed by a double handle pass in 5 m = freestyle. You have a tour. Leave us one event. Thanks ! This is no more "your" comp than anyone elses. Red Bull will do whatever they see fit. The manufacturers will want it to keep going in the directions of bridled kites that ...

Re: What to inspect when buying a used kite?

If you get to see the kite in hand, look it ALL over while inflated. While the whole set up is susceptible to damage, many of us buy used kites remotely without the luxury of a hands on inspection. Here are a few tips: It's always a crap shoot so don't spend more than your willing to forfeit. Establ...

Re: Replacing C-kites...?

Have had those days. Too gusty for C kites. They feel like a rodeo. But that same 7m C can really shine on the right day.

You would have had a better go on a 7m wave kite. Softer power band and more control when depowered with softer tighter loops. They all boost well enough in real wind.

Re: Replacing C-kites...?

I get that sentiment, but here is the thing. C kite design has definitely matured. They have been great kites for a long time and always will be. If there is any kite that can sit in the shed waiting for a few days a year, without loosing their magic, its C kites. They aren't worth much on the secon...

Re: Kevin Langeree Claims Red Bull King Of The Air Title For Second Time

Line length plays a big part when its not rocking 40 knots. In those conditions the guys with 24m lines were clearly getting better height and it payed off for them. I'm surprised that not many of the competitors are used to/opt for longer lines when it blowing in the 30's. Jessie was one of the mos...

Re: On Shore Wave Kites

Most onshore conditions are what surfers call your average beach break. No defined take off, tubes are pretty rare, pretty short rides. Still loads of fun on a kite. You can get into and out of those small rides better and if your lucky occasionally link a couple together. It's still surfing, and yo...

Re: What's the best thing about kite surfing?

Variety Foil, surfboard, twin tip, snow. Keeps it fresh and the stoke high. They are so different in ideal conditions and gear but crossover so much that any one helps improve the others. My foiling has hugely improved my efficiency on a surfboard. Snow kiting helps introduce variation and style to ...
