Re: The State of Kiteboarding 2018 - Change Needed

Dude, all you do is complain! The GKA tour is lame as f*** but you were complaining about kite comps ever since I can remember. Too stale, no progression, bla bla bla. Never once heard a word of support for true rider driven competitions like SSS. The marketing hasn’t changed at all, it’s always bee...

Re: Chicken Loop Bye Bye?

The pull string trigger style of wichard shackle is the safest one. The side bolt pull version can jam under load. The tiny string is an obvious issue wrt releasing in an emergency. I get the attraction of a swivel but the trigger need modding for emergency use (as previously pointed out). The bar p...

Re: Chicken Loop Bye Bye?

Trimless set up is by far my preference for foiling with LEI's. The BRM set up has a number of trim options on the harness side of the set up that I only really use with my biggest kite (12m) ie when I know I'm likely to be in the top of its range, I slip one larks head onto a knot to bring the bar ...

Re: lei lightwind launch

Hot launch with the kite resting LE up is super easy with strutless kites. Usually done in virtually no wind launch spots that make even reverse launch a challenge.

Re: Kite company's are out of their minds

Really? You must think kiting is the 'end all'. Well, its not. I know perfectly capable kiters who quit or go infrequently because they got bored or decided to pursue something else. They made a decision not to buy new kite gear and spend their disposable income elsewhere. If they go a few times a ...

Re: Surf wax recommendations

A super generous coat of hard wax that builds into pretty solid bumps should not need to be redone very often. Done well a wax job should hold up for weeks. Lots of youtube vids for technique, but as pointer, I would use between half and 3/4 of a base coat bar of wax on a cleaned and dry board that ...

Re: Surf wax recommendations

Base coat is key, either “base coat” wax or something harder than the temp your riding in. Then a light coat of the proper temp. Lasts much longer, and usually just needs touch ups of the warmer wax.

Sticky bumps is my fave.
