Re: Beginner Board Advice: Door vs Regular Large

Agreed. Wide boards require a lot of pressure to hold an edge. Learning to ride a TT is all about edging. Through an unusual set of circumstances, I acquired a Slingshot Glide. Not my intention to buy a 'door' type TT board, but I've come to appreciate the Glide's design of being long, straight and ...

Re: Flat water spot in May

TX Coastal Bend - I second SPI and add the greater Corpus Christi area. Compared to most other 1st world destinations, both are dirt cheap. At both Corpus and SPI, you have miles and miles of waist to chest deep water. Just a 10 minute drive away you have a jetty break for the prevailing SE wind. Co...

Re: Smallest chicken loop

In addition to the Talon, Slingshot also makes an optional Small conventional chicken loop, for both the Guardian and Sentinel, if you want a chicken loop that isn't metal, which can also be used with a [DIY shortened] conventional lock tube. North Rope Harness Kit and Slingshot Talon are what I can...

Re: Protection for eyes?

I wear prescription sunglasses and sometimes apply Rain-X to the lenses. Why does it seem like most of those late day sessions are always done squinting into the setting sun? Rain-X is somewhat effective against spotting/droplets for about half a day. With an alcohol base to evaporate upon applicati...

Re: Are Switch kites getting any better?

@Felix, Seems you've opted to take the low road. Guess we're bumping along in the gutter now. Not really sure how my posts are BS. I probably know more than you think and I've actually been quite restrained with my postings. Sorry if all the probing questions on the E6 bugged you, but people know th...

Re: Are Switch kites getting any better?

@Faxie - You obviously don't know how to get worked and thrash in the waves properly. Seriously: Almost all of my wrap issues have been during downwinders, looping the kite into the water and getting a lot of line slack, as I coast to a stop towards a downed kite. Earlier this year, I somehow manage...

Re: Are Switch kites getting any better?

Suggestion to calm things down... The forum moderator needs to change the name of this thread to: Switch Kites ARE Getting Better and Don't Dare Post Anything to Challenge That! @ The Motive comment - We could challenge the same back. Is your motive to negate, squash or marginalize any challenge or ...

@naishdude & jakoblondal: Thanks for posting, but still can't tell if the bridle will slip over the wingtip.

Re: Are Switch kites getting any better?

Peeps have been asking for bridle photos of the Element 7 on the Switch Forum, without any luck. Anyone think the bridle will wrap the wingtip? Since the E7 appears to be the Ikon Peak3, I'm thinking [pure speculation] it might... https://ikon-kiteboarding.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/PEAK-3-BRIDL...

Re: Choosing an Impact vest ?

Promotion, Hood River based, makes a nice zip-front vest with a Velcro waist. This allows a much better fit than a full-zip front.
