Re: Flysurfer Speed3 now also available in 21m

Dan - how much do you weigh? I just picked up a Speed 3 19 and had a blast on it in 8-12 kts (my first session on it) I Can't wait to try it in bigger wind. There is definitely an improvement in the turning speed and hangtime of the Speed 2 and it sounds like the upper end (safety or depower) is the...

Nice Vid!

What is the kite in this Video?
Bridle and shadow looks like a Flysurfer Speed.

Re: Light Wind Machine

10-15 kts is not light wind.....to me. Sad, but true.
Many, many, many kites can have a 200lb rider going in this wind range - its the sub 10 kts range where the challenge is.

What's my point? Lets be a little more carefull when we throw the term "light wind machine" out there.

Re: Pumps, damn pumps.....

I vote for a better (more durable, replaceable parts) pump as an accessorie.

Re: ex-Cabrinha riders, what're you riding??

I've switched to Ocean Rodeo Rise. Originally I switched due to quality issues (4 out of 4 Cabs had major damage caused by what were relatively normal crashes into the water), but know that I'm used to the faster turning and more responsive rise - I'll never go back. To be honest - all kites are gre...

Re: Lightwind board?

Some good advice so far.....but one point has not been stressed - For light wind, the board must be FLAT. NO ROCKER AT ALL. Spleene Doors, SS Glide, Plywood, skimboards are all completely flat. At your weight - flat will make a huge difference. Size matters as well - but the bigger you go the quicke...

Re: Rise 12m or 14?

I had the same question last summer and extensively tested both the 12M and 14M 2008 Rise. I went with the 12M. Here's why (I'm 195lbs) - The low end difference between the 2 was very minor (maybe 1 or 2 kts) - The 14 M was extremly more trim sensitive than the 12M - thus not as fun or easy to fly -...

Re: What is your killer lightwind setup?

Cursed with light wind - I do enjoy checking all the light wind threads for new ideas.....however, if you don't state your weight and what you consider is light wind....your post is meaningless. IMO - over 12 kts is NOT light wind. Any new 12M kites and a big board will get you going very well in 12...

Re: Anyone ridden a Sky PIrate Strapless?

Great to hear Sky Pirates are still on the water!
I've got a 6' lying in my basement with about 5 years of dust on it.
Are you suggesting that its not a bad board to try strapless riding on?
What are the main differences between the "new school" kite surf boards and the sky pirate?
