Re: Is a Flysurfer Soul 18m too much for hydrofoil in light wind?

Glad you like the 15m! I agree with previous comments that it depends on your style and what foil you are riding. Recently I was riding my race foil with minimal power on my 11m Sonic 2. Then switched to my buddy's Slingshot H2 (giant wing). Even though I had been fine with 11m on my race foil, I co...

Re: F one Diablo V1 12m

The Diablo V1's were very good kites. They are now 3 or 4 years old though, so depends on how much it has been used and if the owner has kept up with tuning the stretching/shrinking bridles. How much are they asking? Should be around $500-$700 in the US. I never had a Diablo V1, but I remember someo...

Re: World kite championships 2018

hi Can someone explain me why there are so many „first places“ in one race ? Different fleets? Yes, they have different fleets at first and then the top from each fleet race each other. However, I dont think the medal races ever happened. They were supposed to be Saturday but were cancelled due to ...

Re: Flysurfer Sonic Race VMG

I got to try out my new 15m Sonic VMG today in underpowered conditions. Felt fast, but I didn't have my GPS. I've been on the Sonic 2's in 9m,11m,15m, and 18m for the last 2.5 years. Had Sonic 1s and a Chrono before that. I'm mostly racing. I've never ridden a Sonic race, so can't compare. Wind was ...

Re: short lines

Looping to get going is one thing, but if you are talking about looping through a jibe, you can go with much shorter lines. I've seen a 21m race kite looped on 15m lines not problem through a foiling jibe. When you're riding under the kite as it loops, the kite can pretty much stay in the same spot ...

Re: Flysurfer VMG

Do you have a 9m sonic2? Some here have tried it and hated it enough to send it back. I hadn't heard anything bad about the 9m Sonic 2. What didn't they like? I really like mine. It's very stable even in gusty-windy conditions. Maybe others didn't like it in light conditions though? I've only used ...

Re: Foil Kite folding in half when going upwind!?

I gave up trying to read through the back and forth, but would add this because I dont think it was said: This is a known issue with the LF elite. Not sure if it can be fixed by adjusting bridles. I heard it was because the air intakes are in the wrong spot. I've seen it on several different LF elit...

Re: Flysurfer Sonic Race VMG

I got mine today! It came with the wingtips flaked (like an accordian) and the middle folded. I saw picture online where someone had flaked it instead of rolling. Is it ok to roll this kite? Seems like flaking it would be a lot more difficult out on the beach.

Re: Flysurfer Sonic Race VMG

How does this compare to the Sonic2? Saw one in person, but havent gotten mine yet. VMG is definitely fast! The guy who had it said the 3 row bridle system makes for less tangled when launching and landing. Others have said on other posts that vmg has lighter bar pressure, worse relaunch (takes on ...

Re: Lecca-Lecca Minima 11m First Flight

I gave it a go at the same time after coming off my 15m Sonic 2. It was a pretty good kite! Going upwind it was noticeably slower than the race kite (as expected), but other than that it did all the foil kite things well with no bad behaviors (no tip tucks or collapses at all). Going downwind it was...
