Topic: new naish chicken loop releasing...any solutions?

Marina Some of the early X2 bars had an overhand knot in the chicken loop line just next to the release mechanism. This could cause problems so they recommend that the knot be removed. (It takes a bit of effort.) I have posted their instructions in the yahoo kitesurf group files area http://groups.y...

I usually kite where the launch area is a narrow rock jetty and self launching is not a viable option. The way we launch is the kiter gets in the water on the downwind side of the jetty and someone holds the kite at the top of the jetty (about 5 meters up) for the launch. Luckily there are always a ...

That is to be expected. A lot of riders prefer to NOT use the bridle, especially on the 8.4 Airblast and smaller ones. It is a matter of preference.

It may seem like a good idea until you realize that it will not rotate under load. (As a matter of fact neither do snap shackels with swivels.)

It would take an almost frictionless bearing to rotate under normal front kite lines load.

My FOne Mach 1 is well made. Polyfuse is used. I believe Naish uses this also on some kites. It is excellent material and mine is holding up very well. The wind range charts clearly show that only expert riders can take advantage of the full expert wind range. I find that their published normal wind...

Here are some tips to keep those lines from tangling: 1. When you disconnect the 4 lines from the kite, immediately tie them together (using their larks head knots). 2. When you wind the lines onto your bar, always use a figure 8 pattern rather than just a loop pattern. 3. As you finish winding line...

Make sure that all your lines are equal length ...this may solve your asymetry problem. Yes the kite can fly backwards if it is oversheeted (just like an Airblast or an ARC). If you quickly sheet out it will recover and fly normally. You should set up your front lines adjustment strap so this does N...

I did a quick search for Protec Ace and found these websites with pictures: http://www.caribecatalog.com/store/store.php?&category_id=489 http://www.hardheadedsports.com/protec-ace-wakeboarding-helmet.html It is available in several colors and mine does not have the ear flaps shown in the picture. I have always used the Protec Ace helmet. It fits very comfortably and I never even notice it. It has more padding and is probably stronger than the Gath. On the other hand, the Gath covers more of your head. I recommend going to a kayak store to buy a helmet. They have much bigger selections of hig...
