Re: Hydrofoil Pro Tour Ready to Rip at St. Francis Yacht Club

After 3 days of racing Nico Parlier appears to be dominating.. but Johnny and Guy are close behind. Let's see if he holds on to the lead during the final day today.

Re: 3-4 degrees upwind angle

Peter is correct of course. VMG is all that matters. When I am out having fun I sometimes chase other kiters, windsurfers or sailboats and have a mini race for a while. It is nice to be faster than almost anything on the water except other hydrofoilers. If my speed is the same as another kiter, but ...

Re: Hydrofoil Pro Tour Ready to Rip at St. Francis Yacht Club

Nico was always on Mikes Lab foils. A month ago he posted the quote below after his win: I am not sure why he doesn't list his board/foil sponsor now.. his board looks like a Mikes Lab in the latest pictures. CG 1st place at the Defi Kite 2018 !!! It’s a good start of the season for me ! Big ...

Re: Hydrofoil Pro Tour Ready to Rip at St. Francis Yacht Club

Results from day 1. Nico Parlier is continuing to be unbeatable with Johnny Heineken and Guy Bridge close behind. Big credit goes to 17 year old female competitor, Daniela Moroz, who is currently 6th in a field of 50 of the worlds best kite racers. It looks like a great event. CG Capture (Sma...

Re: Small tear in kite

Sail repair tape (Spinnaker tape) should be fine. Make sure surface is clean and fat free, use on both sides, and round the edges. Correct. Sail repair tape is rip stop polyester which is the same material as the kite canopy. If you are in a cold climate you should apply a bit of heat to set the ad...

Re: Rear foot in front of rear strap location narrow stance

Any stance and foot position that feels comfortable is fine. I often ride with my rear foot in front of the rear strap. But when you are in challenging conditions or you want to go fast you will want to get that back foot in the back strap. When going deep downwind very fast I would be scared if I d...

Re: Leash wrapped around harness hook

It sounds like you guys are doing handle passes behind your backs and you need long leashes. For most of us, who never do these handle passes, a short leash is the way to go. Here are ones from Ozone and Ion. It is a pleasure never again having a long leash snag on things. Just attach this leash ont...

Re: Harness replacement webbing

For years sailors have used this tool to sew quick repairs on heavy sails.
It handles harness webbing easily. Any marine store has it, or try Amazon. It comes with heavy thread.. and instructions for those that don't know how to sew (like me).

Re: Repairing a pump seal

You can extend the life of any pump greatly by occasionally lubricating the shaft. Avoid petroleum based lubricants like oil because they may react with the O ring. You can buy silicon spray lubricant at automotive or hardware stores.
